Students from SC, BC-A, BC-B and general categories can apply online through Saral Haryana until November 30; scholarship amounts range from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 depending on academic level and course

The Haryana government has invited online applications from eligible students of all categories under the Dr BR Ambedkar Meritorious Revised Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2026-27. Applications are being accepted from August 17 to November 30, 2026, through the Saral Haryana portal.
Deputy Commissioner Preeti said the scheme is being implemented by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes, and Antyodaya Haryana, with the objective of providing financial support to meritorious students and encouraging them to continue higher education.
The scheme provides scholarships to eligible students on the basis of their academic performance, social category, rural or urban residence and the course they choose after completing their qualifying examination. The financial assistance is intended to reduce the economic burden on families and encourage meritorious students to pursue further studies.
For students belonging to the Scheduled Caste category, those securing at least 70 per cent marks in Class 10 in urban areas and 60 per cent in rural areas are eligible for an annual scholarship of ₹8,000 on admission to Class 11 or the first year of any diploma or certificate course.
Similarly, SC students securing at least 75 per cent marks in Class 12 in urban areas and 70 per cent in rural areas can receive ₹8,000 for admission to the first year of undergraduate Arts, Commerce, Science and diploma or certificate courses. For engineering, technical and vocational courses, the scholarship amount is ₹9,000, while students pursuing medical and allied medical courses can receive ₹10,000.
At the graduation level, students meeting the prescribed academic criteria can receive further financial assistance for postgraduate studies. Students securing 65 per cent marks in urban areas and 70 per cent in rural areas are eligible for ₹9,000 for the first year of postgraduate Arts, Commerce or Science courses. The amount rises to ₹11,000 for engineering, technical and vocational courses and ₹12,000 for medical and allied medical courses.
The scheme also covers students belonging to Backward Class-A, Backward Class-B and the general category, subject to the prescribed eligibility criteria.
For Backward Class-A students, those who secure at least 70 per cent marks in Class 10 in urban areas and 60 per cent in rural areas are eligible for ₹8,000 per year after admission to Class 11 or the first year of any diploma or certificate course.
For Backward Class-B students, the minimum requirement is 80 per cent marks in Class 10 for students from urban areas and 75 per cent for those from rural areas. Eligible students admitted to Class 11 or the first year of a diploma or certificate course will receive ₹8,000 annually.
Students belonging to the general category are also eligible under the revised scholarship scheme. They must have secured at least 80 per cent marks in Class 10 in urban areas and 75 per cent in rural areas to qualify for ₹8,000 per year after admission to Class 11 or the first year of any diploma or certificate course.
The Deputy Commissioner said the inclusion of students from different social categories under the scheme reflects the government’s objective of supporting meritorious students who meet the prescribed academic and other eligibility requirements. The scholarship can provide valuable assistance to families in meeting education-related expenses and can help students continue their studies without financial constraints becoming a barrier.
Applicants have been advised to carefully keep all required documents ready before submitting their applications. According to the district administration, students applying under the scheme will have to upload or attach copies of their caste certificate, Haryana permanent residence certificate, Parivar Pehchan Patra, recent photograph and bank passbook.
They will also be required to submit a copy of their 2026 marksheet or DMC, along with a valid identity document. Students who are currently pursuing studies after March 2026 will need to provide the relevant proof of their present educational status. In addition, an income certificate showing that the father’s annual income is below ₹4 lakh during the current financial year 2026-27 is required.
District Welfare Officer Anu Bansal said the District Welfare Department implements several welfare schemes of the Haryana government and provides assistance to eligible beneficiaries. She described the Dr BR Ambedkar Meritorious Revised Scholarship Scheme as an important initiative aimed at encouraging deserving students to pursue education and improve their future prospects.
Bansal urged eligible students and their families not to wait until the last date to complete the application process. She said applicants should carefully check the eligibility conditions and documents before submitting their forms online to avoid difficulties during verification.

The district administration has appealed to eligible students to make use of the opportunity and submit their applications within the prescribed period. The scheme is particularly significant for students who perform well academically but may face financial limitations while moving from school to higher education.
