Harbhajan alias Zaidi Murder Case: Yamunanagar Police Arrest Two More,Total Eight Held

 Yamunanagar Police have arrested two more persons in connection with the murder of Harbhajan alias Zaidi, taking the total number of arrests in the case to eight. The latest arrests were made by the Crime Branch-2 Yamunanagar during the ongoing investigation into the incident reported near a gym in Model Town on the morning of September 3, 2026.

According to information provided by the police, the latest investigation has focused not only on those allegedly directly involved in the crime but also on persons suspected of providing financial, technical and other forms of assistance to members of the network associated with the case.

8 ARRESTS SO FAR

The police said eight persons have now been arrested in connection with the case. The investigation into the roles of other suspects is continuing.

Six Accused Were Arrested Earlier»

DSP Rajat Gulia, while providing details, said the police had earlier arrested six persons in the case. Among them were Vishal, a resident of Kurukshetra, who allegedly provided his motorcycle to persons involved in the incident, and his associate Kishan, who was allegedly involved in providing other assistance.

The police subsequently arrested Aryan and Rakesh, both residents of Kurukshetra, after they allegedly came to the Chhappar police station area with an intention to carry out another criminal activity. Police said the two were intercepted by a Crime Branch-2 team and a police encounter followed. Both were injured by gunshots to their legs and were apprehended along with weapons, according to the police.

Police Allege Weapons and Technical Assistance Role»

According to the police, Aryan and Rakesh were allegedly connected with providing weapons and technical assistance in the Harbhajan alias Zaidi murder case. The police said their arrest followed an investigation into the network allegedly operating behind the incident.

The investigation also led police to Mohit and Manish, residents of Nilokheri in Karnal district. Police said both had allegedly travelled to Yamunanagar as part of a prior plan to carry out the murder. Their alleged role is being investigated as part of the wider case.

Investigation Turns to Alleged Support Network»

As the investigation progressed, police said they found indications that handlers operating from outside the area and their local associates were allegedly providing financial and technical assistance to facilitate criminal activities.

Police said important information emerged regarding a network allegedly associated with Garvish Nanda, a resident of Jagadhri, who is stated by the police to be connected with criminals operating from abroad.

On the basis of the evidence collected during the investigation, the Crime Branch-2 team arrested Rushil Nanda, brother of Garvish Nanda, and his mother. Police allege that the two assisted persons connected with the incident by providing reconnaissance and financial support.

Police Examine Financial Transactions»

According to investigators, evidence has also emerged indicating that the newly arrested persons had allegedly been involved in financial transactions for other associates of the gang in the past. Police said relevant evidence and transaction records have been incorporated into the investigation.

The police have not treated the investigation as limited to the persons already arrested and have indicated that further action will depend on the evidence emerging during the ongoing probe.

One Accused Sent to Judicial Custody»

The arrested female accused was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody, the police said. Rushil Nanda was taken on a one-day police remand, which is scheduled to end today. Further legal action is being carried out according to the prescribed procedure.

The police said the investigation into the case remains underway and that action against other persons allegedly connected with the network will be taken on the basis of evidence and applicable law.

Police Warn Against Supporting Criminal Networks»

The Yamunanagar Superintendent of Police has issued a message to the public, stating that strict legal action will also be taken against persons who provide financial, technical or other assistance to criminals.

Police appealed to residents not to knowingly or unknowingly assist any criminal or criminal gang. The department also urged people to stay away from criminal activities and report information about suspicious activities through appropriate channels.
