Children Paint Gandhi’s Cleanliness Message Through Colours in Yamunanagar
The message of cleanliness and a clean India came alive through colours and creativity as students participated in a cleanliness awareness programme and drawing competition organised at Vishwas Public School in Sector-17, Yamunanagar, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti.
The programme was organised by the Municipal Corporation under the directions of Mayor Suman Bahmani and Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad. Students participated enthusiastically and used both their creativity and messages to highlight the importance of keeping their homes, schools and surroundings clean.
Children Present Gandhi’s Message Through Creative Expression»
A special attraction of the programme was the participation of several children dressed in the attire associated with Mahatma Gandhi. Through their presentation, the students highlighted Gandhi’s emphasis on cleanliness and a disciplined way of life, while conveying a message of a clean and beautiful society.
The drawing competition provided another platform for students to express their understanding of cleanliness. Through colourful and imaginative artwork, they depicted themes such as Swachh Bharat, clean communities and a clean environment.
Cleanliness Should Become a Daily Habit»
Principal Neeraj Kloha and Swachh Bharat Mission representative Gagan Beniwal explained the importance of cleanliness to the students. They emphasised that cleanliness should not remain limited to occasional campaigns but should become a regular part of everyday life.
Students were encouraged to keep their homes, schools and surrounding areas clean, dispose of waste at designated places and motivate others to adopt responsible cleanliness practices. The emphasis was placed on developing habits at an early age so that children can become active participants in creating cleaner communities.
Gandhi Jayanti Used to Connect Values With Everyday Action»
The programme sought to connect the values associated with Mahatma Gandhi with practical action in everyday life. Rather than treating cleanliness only as a civic responsibility, students were encouraged to understand it as a habit that begins with individual behaviour.
The students’ drawings reflected this message through themes related to clean surroundings, responsible waste disposal and environmental protection. Their participation also demonstrated how schools can play an important role in creating awareness about civic responsibility among young people.
