Special campaign dates fixed for September 12, 13, 26 and 27; BLOs to remain available at polling stations from 9 am to 5 pm

The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline for voters to submit claims and objections concerning the electoral rolls until September 30, 2026, District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Preeti said. The extension is intended to provide eligible citizens additional time to verify their electoral details and raise objections or seek necessary corrections under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls-2026.
As part of the exercise, the district administration has announced four special campaign dates during which Booth Level Officers will remain available at polling stations to assist voters and receive claims and objections. The special campaign dates are September 12, 13, 26 and 27, 2026, all of which fall on Saturdays and Sundays.
Preeti said Booth Level Officers would be present at their respective polling stations from 9 am to 5 pm on each of these special campaign days. Eligible citizens can visit their designated polling station during these hours to submit claims and objections relating to the electoral roll.
The special campaign has been planned to make the revision process more accessible to citizens, particularly those who may find it difficult to approach election offices during regular working days. By keeping BLOs available at polling stations on weekends, the administration aims to provide voters with a convenient opportunity to participate in the electoral roll revision exercise.
The District Election Officer said the claims and objections period under the Special Intensive Revision of Electoral Rolls-2026 would now remain open until September 30. Citizens who believe that their names, personal details or other electoral information require correction can use the prescribed process during the extended period.
She also emphasised the importance of ensuring that eligible citizens have adequate opportunity to participate in the revision exercise. Electoral rolls form the foundation of the electoral process, and accurate voter information is essential for ensuring that eligible citizens are able to exercise their franchise.
The administration has simultaneously strengthened its monitoring arrangements for the four special campaign dates. Preeti has directed all Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, Deputy District Election Officers and BLO supervisors to personally monitor the arrangements at polling stations.
Officials have specifically been instructed to check whether BLOs are present at their respective polling stations during the designated hours on September 12, 13, 26 and 27.
