AICTE Innovation Cell session highlights research funding, industry collaboration and innovation-driven higher education

Faculty members of DAV College for Girls, Yamunanagar, participated in a national online webinar organised by the Innovation Cell, Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), to explore emerging opportunities in research, innovation and academic collaboration.
The webinar, titled “Strengthening Scientific Research and Innovation in Higher Educational Institutions: ANRF Vision, Priorities and Collaborative Framework,” was attended under the guidance of Officiating Principal Dr. Surinder Kaur and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) Convener Vivek.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, Chief Executive Officer of the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), who outlined India’s roadmap for promoting scientific research and innovation across higher education institutions.

During the session, Dr. Kalyanaraman explained various AICTE-supported research initiatives, funding opportunities and collaborative frameworks between academia and industry.
He also highlighted the role of the Saral AI platform in making scientific research more accessible to the public through simplified communication.
Emphasising the need for multidisciplinary research, innovation, startups, patents, technology transfer and socially relevant research, he said future evaluation of research projects would go beyond academic publications and increasingly focus on social impact, industry partnerships, innovation outcomes and entrepreneurship development.
The participating faculty members gained valuable insights into the latest research policies, funding mechanisms and the evolving role of AICTE and ANRF in strengthening India’s higher education and innovation ecosystem.
