A ceremonial Kalash Yatra carrying sacred soil from the birthplace of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj in Kashi (Varanasi) will receive a grand welcome in Yamunanagar on Wednesday after arriving from Gurugram. The holy procession is expected to witness participation from saints, public representatives, BJP leaders, councillors and a large number of devotees.

The reception programme will be held at Sanatan Dharam Mandir in Model Town, following which the sacred Kalash will travel through all Municipal Corporation wards and various BJP organisational units across the city, enabling devotees from different localities to pay their respects and participate in the spiritual event.

Preparations for the visit were reviewed during a meeting held at the Mayor’s residence on Monday under the chairmanship of Mayor Suman Bahmani. BJP District President Rajesh Sapra, BJP Scheduled Caste Morcha District President Dharam Singh Mattu, councillors and party functionaries attended the meeting and discussed arrangements related to the reception, procession route and public participation.

Mayor Bahmani urged all councillors to ensure maximum participation from their respective wards, describing the visit of the sacred soil as a matter of pride for the entire district.

She said the holy soil from Kashi symbolises the timeless message of equality, social harmony, humanity and brotherhood preached by Guru Ravidas Ji Maharaj. According to the Mayor, the arrival of the Kalash Yatra in Yamunanagar is not merely a religious occasion but also an opportunity to reinforce the values of social unity and mutual respect.

She further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, efforts are being made to spread the message of social harmony and inclusiveness associated with Guru Ravidas Ji across the country. She expressed confidence that the Kalash Vandan Yatra would inspire people to embrace these ideals and strengthen communal harmony.

Appealing to citizens to participate in large numbers, Bahmani invited residents to join the welcome ceremony on Wednesday and become part of what she described as a historic and spiritually significant occasion.
