Victim, an accused in the 2025 Vishank murder case, suffers fractured leg after alleged assault by five youths; FIR registered against two named and three unidentified accused

A youth currently out on bail in the sensational 2025 Vishank alias Vish murder case was allegedly attacked by a group of five men in Yamunanagar on Thursday evening in what police suspect could be a case of personal enmity linked to the earlier murder.
The injured man, Vishesh Kamboj, sustained a fractured leg and multiple injuries after being allegedly assaulted with wooden sticks and iron rods near Shani Temple in Teacher Colony. Police have registered a case against Shubham Garg, another accused identified as Mani, and three unidentified persons, and have launched an investigation.
According to the complaint lodged by Vishesh, he was walking home to Govindpura at around 7:30 pm when a car allegedly intercepted him. He claimed that Shubham Garg, a resident of Sector-17, HUDA, Jagadhri, along with Mani and three others, stepped out of the vehicle and confronted him.
The complainant alleged that one of the attackers accused him of murdering his maternal cousin, Vishank, before the group allegedly began assaulting him with wooden clubs, sticks and iron rods. He sustained injuries on his face, arms, legs, waist and other parts of the body during the attack.
Local residents who heard the commotion alerted the police through the emergency Dial-112 service. Responding officers shifted the injured man to the Civil Hospital, where doctors prepared his medico-legal report (MLR). Medical examination recorded multiple facial injuries, while an X-ray reportedly confirmed a fracture in one of his legs. Doctors also advised orthopaedic and dental examinations.
Police said Vishesh Kamboj is one of the accused in the high-profile Vishank alias Vish murder case that shook Yamunanagar in January 2025. He had been released on bail approximately three months ago.
In that case, Vishank, a resident of Professor Colony, had gone missing before his body was recovered two days later from the Malan area of Sirmaur district in Himachal Pradesh. Police had arrested Vishesh Kamboj and another accused, Yogesh, in connection with the murder.
According to the police investigation at the time, Vishank and Vishesh were close friends and allegedly consumed narcotic substances together. Investigators claimed that Vishank had transferred ₹90,000 to Vishesh’s bank account shortly before the incident. When Vishank allegedly demanded the money back the following day, a dispute arose.
Police had alleged that Vishesh administered an overdose of narcotics to avoid returning the money, resulting in Vishank’s death. Both accused were subsequently arrested and sent to jail before later securing bail.
Following the latest complaint, City Police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) relating to attempt to murder, assault and other offences. Investigators are examining CCTV footage, identifying the unidentified suspects and probing whether the attack was motivated by revenge connected to the 2025 murder case.
