₹91 Lakh Decorative Lighting Project Brightens SK Marg
Radaur’s SK Marg has taken on a brighter appearance with the commissioning of decorative streetlights installed along its divider. The project, undertaken by the Municipal Committee, involved an expenditure of approximately ₹91 lakh. Senior citizen Mahendra Singh inaugurated the lights at an event held in the presence of senior BJP leader Nepal Singh Rana.
Rana said residents of Radaur and the wider constituency had long been seeking attractive new lighting for the road. He said the project had been completed through mutual cooperation and with the agreement of Municipal Committee president Rajneesh Mehta and councillors. He expressed hope that more development works would be undertaken in the area.
Municipal Committee president Rajneesh Mehta said efforts were being made to develop Radaur as Haryana’s number-one municipality. Alongside infrastructure improvements, the committee was working to strengthen sanitation. Dustbins are also to be distributed to shopkeepers to encourage cleaner markets and more responsible waste disposal.

Municipal Committee secretary Surender Malik, municipal engineer Sandeep Sharma, Pushpendra Gurjar, councillors and other prominent residents were present at the event.
Dussehra Celebrated with Enthusiasm; Children Make 40-Foot Ravana Effigy
Dussehra was celebrated with enthusiasm in Radaur and nearby villages, with children preparing Ravana effigies at several locations. A grand procession of Lord Shri Ram Darbar was also taken out in the town, adding to the festive atmosphere.
A nearly 40-foot-tall Ravana effigy made by children near Nageshwar Dham at Pakka Ghat in Radaur became a special attraction. The children pooled their pocket money to prepare the effigy, and local residents appreciated their initiative and effort.
Swami Maheshashram said Dussehra symbolises the victory of good over evil and inspires people to follow the ideals of Lord Ram, including truth, righteousness and good conduct. He said the deeper meaning of burning Ravana lies in eliminating the evils within oneself, such as ego, anger and greed. The festival’s message, he added, should be reflected in everyday behaviour rather than remain limited to a ritual.
