Eight benches constituted to facilitate settlement of pending cases through mutual consent and a harmonious process

The National Lok Adalat will be organised across Kurukshetra district on September 12, 2026, in accordance with the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the Haryana State Legal Services Authority, District Legal Services Authority Secretary and Chief Judicial Magistrate Nitika Bhardwaj said.
She said a total of eight benches have been constituted in Kurukshetra district for the National Lok Adalat. Six benches will hear and facilitate the settlement of cases at the Judicial Complex, Kurukshetra, while separate benches will function at the sub-divisional level in Shahabad and Pehowa.
At the Judicial Complex in Kurukshetra, the six benches will be presided over by District and Sessions Judge Dinesh Kumar Mittal, Additional District and Sessions Judge Mahavir Singh, Principal Judge of the Family Court Vivek Singal, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Davinder, Civil Judge (Junior Division) Omesh and Civil Judge (Junior Division) Ayushi Arora.
CJM Nitika Bhardwaj said the arrangements had been made to ensure that litigants have access to an effective forum for resolving their disputes through mutual agreement. The Lok Adalat mechanism provides an opportunity for parties to seek settlement in an amicable environment and avoid prolonged litigation wherever their cases are legally amenable to such resolution.
She said the National Lok Adalat would also be conducted at the sub-divisional courts of Shahabad and Pehowa. The bench constituted at Shahabad will be presided over by Judicial Magistrate First Class Anita Rani, while the Pehowa bench will be headed by Sub-Divisional Judicial Magistrate Kapil.
The National Lok Adalat is being organised to facilitate the settlement of various types of cases pending before courts through mutual consent. The process is intended to provide disputing parties with an opportunity to resolve their matters in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere.
Bhardwaj urged people who have pending matters that can be settled through the Lok Adalat mechanism to make use of the opportunity. She appealed to the public to participate in the National Lok Adalat in large numbers and seek resolution of eligible disputes through mutual agreement.
She said an amicable settlement can help parties avoid the uncertainty and prolonged process associated with continuing litigation. The Lok Adalat platform also encourages disputing parties to arrive at a mutually acceptable resolution rather than allowing differences to remain unresolved for an extended period.
The District Legal Services Authority has been making arrangements for the successful conduct of the National Lok Adalat in coordination with the concerned judicial authorities. The constitution of eight benches across the district is aimed at facilitating access to the settlement process for litigants from different areas.
The six benches at the Judicial Complex in Kurukshetra will deal with matters placed before them according to the applicable legal framework, while the arrangements at Shahabad and Pehowa will enable litigants in the respective sub-divisions to participate locally.
CJM Bhardwaj reiterated that the National Lok Adalat is an important opportunity for eligible litigants to explore settlement of their disputes through dialogue and mutual consent. She encouraged members of the public to take advantage of the initiative and approach the appropriate forum regarding their pending matters.
The National Lok Adalat on September 12 will therefore provide a district-wide platform for resolving eligible pending disputes in an atmosphere of cooperation and mutual understanding. The District Legal Services Authority has urged citizens to make constructive use of the opportunity and work towards peaceful settlement of their cases.
