The latest book by Guru Nanak Khalsa College, Yamunanagar, Principal and noted writer Dr Arvinder Singh Bhalla, Manzil Ki Kashish: Raahon Ki Kasak, was formally released by Varun Gulati, Secretary of the Indian Academy of Literature, New Delhi, at his office. The publication adds another significant work to Dr Bhalla’s long and diverse literary journey, which spans education, Sikh philosophy and thought, Punjabi prose and several other areas of intellectual and cultural inquiry.
Dr Arvinder Singh Bhalla has been associated with the fields of education and literature for many years. He is the author of 25 books written in Punjabi and English, reflecting his wide-ranging academic interests, extensive reading and sustained engagement with creative and scholarly writing. His body of work covers subjects connected with education, Sikh religion and philosophy, Punjabi prose and broader questions concerning human life and society.
The release of Manzil Ki Kashish: Raahon Ki Kasak was marked by appreciation for Dr Bhalla’s continuing contribution to literature. Speaking on the occasion, Varun Gulati said the author’s literary journey demonstrated not only consistency but also considerable diversity of subjects and depth of thought. Explaining the significance of the book’s title, Dr Bhalla said the desire to reach a destination inspires a person to move forward, but it is the experiences encountered along the way that shape an individual’s personality and understanding. The journey towards a goal may involve struggles, pauses, relationships, challenges and moments of introspection, all of which contribute to personal growth.
He said the true meaning of life could not be measured only by the achievement of a particular goal. The understanding gained through the journey, he added, was equally important. He has successfully completed two government-funded research projects and is currently working on two more research projects.
His academic contribution is also reflected in the publication of more than 80 research papers and over 150 articles. This extensive body of research and writing highlights his continued involvement in knowledge creation and his commitment to academic inquiry.
