Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri, witnessed an energetic display of talent, creativity and confidence on the second day of its grand Talent Show, as students participated enthusiastically in a series of cultural competitions and presented their artistic abilities before the audience. The campus remained vibrant throughout the day, with students showcasing their skills in music, dance, acting and entertainment.
The second day of the Talent Show featured competitions in singing, group dance, solo instrumental performance, mono acting, mimicry and solo dance. Students participated with confidence and enthusiasm, turning the event into a lively celebration of creativity and cultural expression. Their performances received an encouraging response from fellow students, faculty members and other members of the college community.
The singing competition witnessed students presenting melodious performances with confidence and musical expression. Participants demonstrated their command over rhythm, voice modulation and stage presentation while attempting to leave a lasting impression on the audience. The performances reflected the diversity of musical interests among the students and provided them with an opportunity to showcase their abilities beyond the classroom.
The group dance competition also emerged as one of the major attractions of the day. Student groups presented energetic and well-coordinated performances, combining rhythm, movement and stage presence. Their coordination and enthusiasm drew loud applause from the audience and added to the festive atmosphere on the college campus.
The instrumental performance competition provided another platform for students with musical abilities. Participants displayed their command over musical instruments and demonstrated their understanding of rhythm and performance. The presentations highlighted the importance of providing students with opportunities to develop and present artistic skills as part of their overall educational journey.
Mono acting performances brought a different dimension to the event. Participants used dialogue delivery, expressions, body language and acting skills to portray different characters and situations. Their performances demonstrated confidence and creativity, while also highlighting their ability to communicate emotions effectively through stage acting.
The mimicry competition entertained the audience as students reproduced different voices, styles and mannerisms with considerable enthusiasm. Participants attempted to create entertaining performances through voice modulation and distinctive presentation styles, generating laughter and applause among those present.
The solo dance competition further added colour and energy to the Talent Show. Individual participants presented their dance skills with confidence and stage presence. Their performances demonstrated preparation, creativity, rhythm and a willingness to perform before a large audience.
Addressing the students, college Principal Dr Karuna congratulated the participants and said that a Talent Show provides students with an important platform to identify their hidden abilities and present them before others. She emphasised that the purpose of education extends beyond academic knowledge and includes the holistic development of a student’s personality.
Dr Karuna said cultural and creative activities play an important role in developing confidence, leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork and innovative thinking among students. She appreciated the hard work and enthusiasm displayed by the participants and encouraged them to continue refining their abilities through regular practice and participation in such activities.
She also appreciated the efforts of the organisers, judges, cultural team members and students who contributed to the successful conduct of the programme. According to the college, such activities provide students with opportunities to overcome stage fear, communicate effectively and discover areas in which they can excel.
The successful organisation of the second day was supported by Coordinator Dr Veera and Co-Coordinator Professor Seema Jain. Their coordination and guidance helped in conducting the various competitions in an organised manner. They also encouraged participants to perform confidently and make full use of the opportunity provided to them.
The performances were evaluated by a panel comprising Dr Anita Dhingra, Dr Rakhi and Professor Hemraj Kaushish. The judges assessed the participants on the basis of artistic ability, creativity, stage confidence, presentation skills and overall expression.
The organisers said that objective evaluation was aimed at encouraging students to improve their abilities while giving deserving participants recognition for their performance. The judging process also provided students with valuable exposure to professional assessment and constructive competition.
A total of nine activities were included in the Talent Show, and winners were rewarded with cash prizes and certificates. Participants securing first position in each activity received a cheque of ₹900, those securing second position received ₹750, while third-position winners were awarded ₹600. Certificates were also presented to all winners.
The distribution of cash prizes and certificates generated considerable excitement among the students. The recognition encouraged the winners to continue developing their talents and motivated other students to participate in future cultural and co-curricular activities.
Members of the college cultural team, including Professor Sapna, Hina, Manju and Abhishek, remained present during the programme and encouraged the participants. Their support contributed to maintaining an enthusiastic atmosphere throughout the event.
With every performance, applause from the audience filled the campus, reflecting the interest and enthusiasm generated by the Talent Show. The event also highlighted the importance of providing students with opportunities to express themselves creatively and develop skills that complement their academic education.
The college management appreciated the contribution of the participants, judges, organisers, cultural committee members and supporting staff towards the success of the programme. The results announced for the solo instrumental performance category reflected the strong participation witnessed during the competition. Kartikeya of BCom second year secured first position, while Soni of BA first year stood second. Harkabir Singh of BCA first year secured third position.
The Talent Show continued to provide students with an environment where academic learning was complemented by cultural expression and healthy competition. The combination of performances, evaluation, recognition and encouragement made the second day a memorable occasion for the participants and the college community.
