Maharaja Agrasen College, Jagadhri, organised the Road Safety First Round Quiz Competition on August 31, 2026, with the objective of increasing awareness among students about road safety, traffic regulations and responsible road behaviour. The competition was conducted from 11 am to 12 noon, with students participating enthusiastically in the awareness-oriented initiative.
The quiz was designed to familiarise students with important aspects of road safety and encourage them to understand the responsibilities of being safe and responsible road users. Participants answered questions related to traffic rules, road signs, safe vehicle operation and precautions that need to be observed while travelling on roads.
The organisers said the initiative was aimed at going beyond theoretical awareness and encouraging students to develop a responsible attitude towards road use. With young people increasingly becoming regular road users, awareness about traffic regulations and safe practices is considered important for preventing accidents and promoting safer roads.

The programme was coordinated by Dr Usha Devi and Professor Rahul, who encouraged students to strictly follow road safety rules and remain alert not only for their own safety but also for the safety of other road users.

Students were encouraged to follow traffic signals, understand road signs, avoid careless behaviour and remain attentive while travelling. College principal Dr Karuna appreciated the organisation of the quiz competition and said road safety was not merely about following rules to avoid penalties but was a responsibility shared by every citizen.
She said students have an important role to play in creating greater awareness about safe road practices. By following traffic rules themselves and encouraging others to do the same, young people can contribute towards developing a culture of responsible road use.
Dr Karuna called upon students to observe traffic regulations consistently and spread awareness about road safety in society. She said even a small act of carelessness on the road can have serious consequences, making caution and discipline essential for every road user.
The principal also appreciated the enthusiasm shown by students during the competition and said such awareness activities provide an effective platform for combining education with social responsibility.

At the conclusion of the competition, the results were announced. Ankush, Aryan and Bunty of BA second year jointly secured the first position. Divya, Divyanshi and Sandhya of BA first year secured the second position.
The third position was secured jointly by Sadhna and Kirti of BA first year and Anjali of BA second year.
The organisers congratulated all the winners and appreciated the efforts of every student who participated in the competition. They said the objective of the event was not restricted to identifying winners but also to ensure that students gained a better understanding of road safety and the importance of responsible behaviour.
