Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal has appealed to residents of Yamunanagar district to ensure police verification of tenants, domestic workers and employees before allowing them to stay or work on their premises. He said proper verification is an important step towards strengthening public safety and helping police identify individuals who may be wanted in criminal cases or involved in unlawful activities.
According to the police advisory, house owners, shopkeepers, factory owners, hotel operators, restaurant and dhaba owners, contractors and other establishments should exercise caution while engaging workers or renting out their properties. The SP said that the verification of tenants and domestic workers can help establish their identity and check whether they have any criminal background or are wanted in connection with any criminal case.
Kamaldeep Goyal said that, in some cases, people with criminal backgrounds may attempt to conceal their identity by taking rented accommodation or seeking employment at different establishments. Such individuals may allegedly use temporary residences or workplaces to plan or commit offences before leaving the area.
He said that police verification and proper record maintenance can help law enforcement agencies identify such individuals more effectively. If the information and identity details of tenants and workers are available with the police, it can assist investigators in tracing suspects and taking timely action whenever required.
The SP urged property owners not to treat police verification as a mere formality. He said landlords should ensure that complete details of tenants are submitted to the concerned police station. Similarly, employers should verify the identity and background of domestic workers and employees engaged at factories, hotels, restaurants, dhabas, shops and other establishments.
The district police have also advised employers to maintain proper identity records of their workers. Owners and employers have been asked to keep copies of valid identity documents, including Aadhaar details where appropriate, while completing the police verification process through the prescribed procedure.
Kamaldeep Goyal said that the verification process can also help landlords and employers know more about the background of the person living on their property or working at their establishment. He appealed to residents to cooperate with the police and submit the required verification forms and records at their respective police stations.
The SP warned that negligence in completing the prescribed verification process could invite legal action wherever applicable under the law. He said property and establishment owners must take the issue seriously in the interest of public safety.
The Yamunanagar Police are already conducting a special drive for the verification of tenants and domestic workers, and the campaign will continue in the future. Police teams are working to identify people staying in rented accommodation and individuals who have come from outside the district or other states for employment.
Kamaldeep Goyal said that all Station House Officers have been directed to maintain vigilance within their respective jurisdictions. Police officials have been instructed to identify people staying in rented houses and those working at hotels, dhabas, factories, shops and other establishments and to verify their backgrounds through the prescribed process.
He said police personnel would also keep a watch on suspicious individuals and take strict action wherever any illegal activity or criminal involvement is found. The district police are maintaining heightened vigilance as part of broader security arrangements and efforts to prevent crime.
The SP appealed to citizens to act responsibly and cooperate with law enforcement agencies. Timely verification of tenants, domestic workers and employees, he said, can contribute to a safer environment and help police respond more effectively to criminal activity.
Residents have been advised to contact their concerned police station and complete the required verification formalities before or while engaging a tenant, domestic worker or other employee, in accordance with the procedure prescribed by the police.
