District Advisory Committee reviews MY Bharat implementation; officials directed to boost youth registration, strengthen inter-departmental coordination and expand volunteer initiatives

Deputy Commissioner Preeti said that young people have a pivotal role to play in nation-building and called for greater participation of youth in the MY Bharat initiative, describing it as a platform that promotes leadership, volunteerism, social responsibility and civic engagement. Chairing a meeting of the District Advisory Committee of MY Bharat at the District Secretariat, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the implementation of the programme, youth registration, departmental coordination and the action plan for the 2026–27 financial year.She directed all departments to actively encourage eligible youth to register on the MY Bharat portal and participate in various government-led programmes. Stressing the importance of coordinated efforts, she instructed officials to conduct monthly reviews, prepare structured action plans and ensure effective convergence among departments for the successful implementation of the initiative. Highlighting the role of young people in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India), the Deputy Commissioner urged students to stay away from substance abuse and contribute positively to society. She also appealed to school and college students across the district to complete their registration on the MY Bharat portal. The meeting reviewed a range of proposed activities for 2026–27, including experiential learning programmes, youth parliaments, volunteer campaigns, national integration camps, awareness workshops on government schemes, block and district-level sports competitions, interstate youth exchange programmes, and the strengthening of youth clubs. Officials were directed to appoint MY Bharat Nodal Officers and Youth Ambassadors in every educational institution to maximise youth participation and ensure timely achievement of registration targets. During the meeting, Omkar Swami, Deputy Director, MY Bharat, presented an overview of the programme’s ongoing activities, the current status of registrations in the district and the targets set for the coming financial year. He called for coordinated efforts from government departments and educational institutions to achieve the registration goals within the stipulated timeframe.The meeting was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr Divya Mangla, District Sports Officer Shilpa Gupta, District Education Officer Prem Lata, Municipal Corporation Executive Officer Jasbir Singh, Red Cross Secretary Sanjeev Kumar Dhiman, District Higher Education Officer Suman Bhatia, District Youth Officer Omkar Swami, DIPRO Dr Manoj Kumar, and representatives of various government departments.
