Searches conducted at suspected locations in Old Hamida as district police intensifies crackdown on narcotics trafficking.

The Yamunanagar Police carried out a special anti-drug combing operation in the Old Hamida area on Saturday with the assistance of a narcotics detection dog as part of its ongoing drive against drug trafficking.
The operation was conducted under the directions of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal.
Police teams searched identified houses and suspicious locations where narcotics were suspected to be concealed.
The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Ravinder Singh along with Head Constables Anil Kumar, Tej Ram and Woman Constable Nitika.
Officials also questioned local residents and kept a close watch on suspicious activities in the area.
SP Kamaldeep Goyal said similar operations would continue across the district to eliminate drug trafficking and urged citizens to report any information related to narcotics, assuring complete confidentiality.
Yamunanagar Police Tightens Security, Traffic Arrangements for Kanwar Yatra
The Yamunanagar Police have strengthened security and traffic management arrangements for the ongoing Kanwar Yatra to ensure the safe and smooth movement of devotees passing through the district.
Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal said adequate police personnel have been deployed along major routes, Kanwar camps and other sensitive locations.
A dedicated traffic management plan has also been implemented to minimise inconvenience to commuters while providing uninterrupted passage to Kanwariyas.
Police will maintain round-the-clock patrolling and monitor sensitive areas through CCTV cameras and social media surveillance.
The SP appealed to devotees and the public to cooperate with the police, follow traffic advisories and immediately report any suspicious activity.
Crime Branch Arrests Youth with Illegal Country-Made Pistol and Live Cartridge
The Crime Branch-1 of the Yamunanagar Police arrested a youth allegedly carrying an illegal country-made pistol and a live cartridge during a special drive against illegal arms.
According to police, the operation was launched after receiving specific information about a suspect moving near the Hamida Head Canal embankment with an illegal firearm.
A team led by Crime Branch-1 In-charge Rajkumar apprehended the accused and recovered the weapon during a search.
The accused, identified as Ravi Kumar of Raipur Kami Majra village, has been booked under the Arms Act and remanded to judicial custody.
Police said further investigation is underway to ascertain the source of the weapon and any possible criminal links.
