Yamunanagar civic body announces month-long Service Sankalp campaign with blood donation, cleanliness, health and awareness drives

The Yamunanagar Municipal Corporation will organise a month-long Service Sankalp campaign from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with a series of public-service and awareness activities focused on health, cleanliness, environmental protection, digital awareness and community participation.
Campaign to connect citizens with public service
Mayor Suman Bahmani and Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad said the campaign will include blood donation camps, visits to old-age homes, plantation drives, Swachhata Hi Seva activities, health check-ups, digital literacy, cyber-security awareness, de-addiction programmes and cleaning and beautification of the riverfront.

Mayor calls for wider public participation
Suman Bahmani said the initiative should go beyond a calendar of events and become a platform that connects every section of society with service and public welfare. She urged residents to participate actively in blood donation, plantation and cleanliness programmes and help make the city cleaner, greener and better.
Officials directed to ensure coordination and documentation
Commissioner Mahabir Prasad said all activities would be conducted through better coordination and with maximum public participation. Officials have been instructed to complete assigned responsibilities on time and properly document every activity under the campaign.

Blood donation drive to open the campaign
The campaign will begin with a blood donation camp on September 17 at Nehru Park, followed by another camp on September 18 at the Jagadhri Municipal Corporation office. Further blood donation camps are scheduled at Radaur and Sadhaura on September 21 and 22 before the campaign expands into welfare, environmental, cleanliness and awareness activities through October 17.
