Mayor Suman Bahmani leads sanitation campaign in Wards 1, 3 and 18, urges residents to adopt proper waste segregation and keep public spaces clean

The Yamunanagar-Jagadhri Municipal Corporation on Wednesday intensified its ‘Cleanliness Welcome’ campaign across multiple wards as part of the Haryana Government’s statewide sanitation initiative ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the state.Special cleanliness drives were carried out in Wards 1, 3 and 18, where sanitation workers removed accumulated waste, cleaned streets and public spaces, and cleared overgrown grass, shrubs and invasive weeds from roadsides. The campaign also focused on creating public awareness about cleanliness and responsible waste disposal.Leading the drive, Mayor Suman Bahmani participated in the cleanliness campaign at Mukherjee Park in Ward 3 and Ratauli village in Ward 1. She joined sanitation workers in cleaning public areas and personally took part in removing overgrown vegetation and weeds along the roadside. Accompanying the Mayor were Additional Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad, councillors Jayant Swami and Reena Rastogi, Chief Sanitary Inspector Harjit Singh, Sanitary Inspector Amit Kamboj, co-convenors Manisha Kansal and Deeksha Barar, along with Municipal Corporation officials and sanitation workers.As part of the programme, the Mayor also spent nearly 90 minutes inspecting lanes and civic infrastructure in Mukherjee Park Colony. She interacted with local residents, heard their grievances and directed officials to address civic issues on priority. She appealed to residents not to dump garbage in open spaces and encouraged households to segregate wet and dry waste before handing it over to municipal collection vehicles. Meanwhile, the campaign was also launched in Jodiyan village (Ward 18) by Nepal Singh Rana, BJP leader and son of Haryana Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana. Joining local residents, factory owners and workers, he participated in the sanitation drive and urged people to maintain cleanliness in their neighbourhoods and support the Municipal Corporation’s efforts to improve urban sanitation. Municipal officials said the campaign will continue across the city with the objective of enhancing public sanitation, promoting citizen participation and creating cleaner urban surroundings.
