ADC Naveen Ahuja urges wider public awareness, asks parties to help ensure error-free electoral rolls

As part of the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, Additional Deputy Commissioner and Electoral Registration Officer (Yamunanagar Assembly Constituency) Naveen Ahuja chaired a meeting with representatives of recognised political parties to hand over statutory Forms 9, 10, 11, 11A and 11B related to claims and objections received up to August 6, 2026.

Addressing the meeting, Ahuja said the special revision programme aims to prepare an accurate, transparent and error-free electoral roll by ensuring that every eligible citizen is included. He informed representatives that the draft electoral rolls had already been published on July 31, 2026, and supplied to all recognised political parties. The draft voter lists are available with Booth Level Officers (BLOs), the office of the Electoral Registration Officer, and on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana, for public inspection.

He said all claims and objections received between August 1 and August 6 had been compiled and shared with political parties for verification through their BLA-2 representatives. Political parties were urged to thoroughly examine the lists and assist the Election Commission in maintaining accurate voter records.

Ahuja also informed the meeting that notices are being issued through BLOs to voters whose details could not be mapped with the 2002 electoral rolls or whose records require verification. He appealed to political parties to spread awareness among the public so that citizens receiving such notices appear before the designated authorities with original documents on the scheduled date and time.

The ADC further urged political parties to motivate all eligible youth who attained the age of 18 years on or before July 1, 2026, to submit Form-6 for inclusion of their names in the voter list, thereby strengthening democratic participation.

Representatives from the BJP, Congress, JJP and Aam Aadmi Party, along with election officials, attended the meeting.

Political Parties Briefed on Electoral Roll Revision in Sadhaura Constituency

Election authorities held a meeting under the chairmanship of the Electoral Registration Officer, Sadhaura (SC) Assembly Constituency, to brief political party representatives on the ongoing Special Intensive Revision-2026 of electoral rolls and distribute statutory forms related to claims and objections received during the revision process.

Officials informed participants that the draft electoral rolls had been published on July 31, 2026, while claims and objections received up to August 6 were provided through Forms 9, 10, 11, 11A and 11B for scrutiny by recognised political parties.

The Electoral Registration Officer said the draft voter lists are available with Booth Level Officers, the District Election Office and on the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana website for free public inspection. Representatives were requested to examine the lists carefully and assist in identifying any discrepancies.

The meeting was also informed that voters whose records could not be matched with the 2002 electoral rolls are being served notices through BLOs. Political parties were urged to create awareness among the public so that recipients appear before election authorities with original documents within the stipulated period.

Officials further appealed to encourage all eligible citizens who turned 18 years of age on or before July 1, 2026, to submit Form-6 for inclusion in the electoral rolls, ensuring wider youth participation in the democratic process.

The meeting concluded with an appeal to all political parties to actively support the Election Commission’s special revision campaign and help ensure that every eligible voter is included in the final electoral roll.
