Don’t throw away usable goods; hand them over to the Municipal Corporation’s RRR vehicle for reuse and recycling

The Municipal Corporation Yamunanagar-Jagadhri has intensified its Reduce, Reuse and Recycle (RRR) campaign, urging residents to contribute usable old household items instead of throwing them away.
As part of the awareness drive, the Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban) team conducted a door-to-door campaign in Vishnu Nagar Colony, Ward No. 19, sensitising residents about the importance of responsible waste management and encouraging them to deposit reusable articles in the Municipal Corporation’s dedicated RRR vehicle.
During the campaign, Swachh Bharat Mission IEC experts Durgesh Kumar and Akash Kumar explained to residents that old clothes, footwear, toys, books, electronic equipment and other usable household items could be collected through the RRR initiative and made available for reuse by people who need them.
The officials said that keeping usable articles out of the waste stream would not only reduce the quantity of garbage generated but also promote better utilisation of resources and contribute towards environmental conservation.
They explained that the basic philosophy behind the Triple R campaign is to ensure that items which still have utility are not unnecessarily discarded. Instead, such materials can be reused, recycled or passed on for productive use, thereby reducing pressure on the city’s waste-management system.
Residents of the colony appreciated the initiative and assured the municipal team that they would contribute usable household items through the RRR vehicle rather than disposing of them as waste.
Municipal Commissioner Mahabir Prasad said the RRR campaign was an important initiative linking cleanliness with environmental protection and conservation of valuable resources.
He appealed to citizens to actively participate in the campaign by handing over usable old articles to the RRR vehicle. Such collective participation, he said, would help strengthen the goal of making Yamunanagar a cleaner, greener and more sustainable city.
The Municipal Corporation has urged residents to look around their homes for articles that are no longer required but remain usable and contribute them to the RRR initiative, turning unwanted possessions into useful resources for others.
