Hindi Diwas celebrated with enthusiasm at Sant Nischal Singh College for Women, Yamunanagar, as B.Ed students showcase their oratory, poetry and creative expression

Sant Nischal Singh College of Education for Women, Santpura, Yamunanagar, celebrated Hindi Diwas with enthusiasm on September 14, 2026, with a series of activities aimed at highlighting the importance of Hindi language, literature and cultural values. The programme was organised under the direction of the college’s officiating Principal, Dr Jaspreet Kaur.
The programme was conducted by Mrs Sudesh Panjeta, who welcomed the participants and extended Hindi Diwas greetings to the faculty members and students. Addressing the gathering, she described Hindi as a language that holds a special place in the lives of Indians and said it remains an important expression of linguistic and cultural identity.
Speech and Poetry Competitions Organised
As part of the celebrations, the college organised speech and poetry recitation competitions. B.Ed students actively participated in both events and presented speeches and poems centred on the significance of Hindi and its role in society.
The participation of students remained enthusiastic throughout the programme. The activities provided the students with an opportunity to express their thoughts in Hindi, demonstrate their communication skills and engage with the literary and cultural dimensions of the language.
The competitions also created an academic platform for students to develop confidence in public speaking and appreciate the expressive qualities of Hindi through poetry and oral presentation. The event encouraged participants to communicate their ideas clearly before an audience and to take greater interest in language-based activities.

Principal Highlights Cultural and Emotional Value of Hindi
At the conclusion of the programme, officiating Principal Dr Jaspreet Kaur extended Hindi Diwas greetings to everyone. She described Hindi as an emotional and expressive language and emphasised that language plays an important role in preserving culture, values and social traditions.
Dr Kaur said that cultural traditions and values remain closely connected with language. She encouraged students to understand the importance of Hindi and to value the language as part of India’s cultural heritage. Her message underlined the role of language in keeping cultural memories, social values and traditions alive across generations.
Students Secure Top Positions in Competitions
In the speech competition, B.Ed first-year student Palak secured the first position, while B.Ed second-year student Shikha stood second. The performances reflected the students’ preparation and confidence in presenting their views before the audience.
In the poetry recitation competition, B.Ed second-year student Suhail Gandhi won the first position, while B.Ed second-year student Devyani secured the second position. The presentations added a creative and literary dimension to the celebrations and gave students an opportunity to express their thoughts through poetry.
The judging panel comprised Mrs Sudesh Panjeta and Mrs Manju Grover, who played an important role in conducting and evaluating the competitions. Their assessment helped recognise the students who performed strongly in the two activities.
Faculty and Students Participate in Hindi Diwas Programme
The programme brought together faculty members and students in an academic and cultural setting. The participation of B.Ed students in speeches and poetry presentations added a creative dimension to the Hindi Diwas celebrations and encouraged students to engage with the language beyond routine classroom activities.
The college said the programme was aimed at creating awareness about the value of Hindi while providing students with opportunities to express themselves through literary activities. The enthusiastic participation also reflected the interest of students in language-based cultural programmes.
