District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena said the Election Commission of India has issued a revised schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Haryana, taking July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date. Under the revised schedule, eligible citizens have been given additional time to verify their names and details in the voter list and submit claims or objections wherever required.
According to the revised schedule issued by the Election Commission, the deadline for filing claims and objections has been extended from August 30, 2026, to September 30, 2026. During this extended period, eligible citizens will be able to seek inclusion of their names in the electoral roll and submit claims and objections concerning entries in the voter list in accordance with the prescribed procedure.
The Special Intensive Revision is an important exercise aimed at ensuring that electoral rolls remain accurate, updated and reflective of eligible voters. The revised schedule provides citizens with additional time to examine their electoral details and approach the competent authorities if their name is missing from the voter list or if any correction or objection is required.
Meena appealed to all eligible citizens in the district to make full use of the extended period and carefully check their names and other details in the electoral roll. He said citizens should not wait until the last date to take action if they find any discrepancy or require inclusion of their name. Claims and objections should be submitted within the prescribed period so that they can be considered and disposed of according to the rules laid down by the Election Commission.
The Deputy Commissioner said an accurate electoral roll is essential for ensuring a transparent and effective democratic process. Every eligible citizen should ensure that his or her name is properly reflected in the electoral roll and that the relevant details are correct. He stressed that citizens’ participation in the revision exercise can help the election authorities maintain accurate and reliable electoral records.
Under the revised programme, the claims and objections period will now continue until September 30, 2026. This extension gives eligible citizens an additional month compared with the earlier schedule. During this period, citizens can undertake the necessary verification of their electoral information and submit their claims or objections through the prescribed mechanism.
Meena also directed the officials concerned to strictly follow the revised schedule issued by the Election Commission of India. He said all stages of the SIR process must be completed within the prescribed timelines and officials should ensure that claims and objections received during the stipulated period are dealt with according to the established procedure.
The District Election Officer said the administration will work to ensure smooth implementation of the revision exercise and facilitate citizens wherever necessary. He also stressed the importance of ensuring that people remain aware of the revised dates so that eligible citizens do not miss the opportunity to get their names included in the electoral roll or raise legitimate objections.
As per the revised schedule, the notice stage and the process of disposal of claims and objections will continue up to October 28, 2026. After completion of the prescribed verification and disposal process, the final electoral roll will be published on November 6, 2026.
Meena said the publication of the final electoral roll will mark an important stage in the completion of the Special Intensive Revision process. Before the final list is published, claims and objections received from citizens will be dealt with according to the applicable procedure.
He urged citizens to remain vigilant about their electoral records and to take timely action if they find any issue concerning their registration. He said citizens should use the extended claims and objections period effectively rather than waiting until the final stage of the revision process.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that maintaining accurate electoral records is a shared responsibility of the election administration and eligible citizens. While election officials are responsible for carrying out the revision process according to the Election Commission’s directions, citizens can contribute by verifying their details and reporting discrepancies within the prescribed timeframe.
The revised schedule is particularly significant for those eligible residents whose names may not have been included in the electoral roll or whose details may require correction. Such citizens should make use of the opportunity provided by the Election Commission and submit the necessary claims or objections before September 30.
Meena directed the concerned officers to ensure that the revised programme is followed in letter and spirit. He said officials should remain prepared to deal with claims and objections received during the prescribed period and ensure that the subsequent process is completed within the deadline of October 28.
The administration has also appealed to citizens to cooperate with election officials during the revision process and provide the required information or documents whenever called for under the prescribed procedure. Timely cooperation will help authorities complete verification and other formalities before publication of the final electoral roll.
Meena reiterated that the objective of the exercise is to ensure that the electoral roll is accurate and that eligible citizens are able to exercise their democratic right without facing difficulties because of missing or incorrect entries. He said citizens should treat the revision process seriously and verify their electoral details at the earliest.
With the revised schedule now in place, September 30, 2026, is the key deadline for filing claims and objections. The authorities will thereafter continue with the notice and disposal process up to October 28, followed by publication of the final electoral roll on November 6, 2026.
The Deputy Commissioner once again appealed to all eligible citizens of the district to check their names in the electoral roll and submit claims or objections, wherever necessary, within the revised timeframe. He said the district administration will ensure completion of the SIR process in accordance with the directions and schedule issued by the Election Commission of India.
