Crime Branch-1 of Yamunanagar Police has arrested another accused in connection with an alleged revenge attack

The Crime Branch-1 of Yamunanagar Police has arrested another accused in connection with an alleged revenge attack on a man travelling in an Innova near Shadipur Mor in the Sadar Yamunanagar police station area. With the latest arrest, four accused have now been taken into custody in the case, police said.
The latest accused has been identified as Kajal, son of Inam, a resident of Garhi Gujran. He was produced before the court and taken on police remand for further investigation. Police said the case is being investigated in detail to establish the complete sequence of events and the role of each accused.
The action was carried out under the directions of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, who has instructed district police teams to take strict action against crime and those involved in criminal activities.
Crime Branch-1 in-charge Raj Kumar said the investigation began after information was received from JP Hospital, Yamunanagar, on August 3, 2026, regarding the admission of Asjad, a resident of Shadipur, who had allegedly been injured in a violent attack.
According to police, eyewitness Rupal, a resident of Todarpur, submitted a complaint in connection with the incident. In his complaint, Rupal reportedly stated that a dispute had taken place on July 27 when a memorandum was being submitted along with members of the Gau Raksha Dal. Police said the subsequent attack was allegedly linked to the earlier dispute.
According to the complaint, on the evening of August 3 at around 4:15 pm, Asjad was travelling in an Innova and reached near KC Plywood Factory. The accused allegedly intercepted his vehicle using a Thar and other vehicles, blocking his way.
Police said the accused then got out of their vehicles and allegedly attacked Asjad with iron pipes, sticks and a pointed iron weapon. The assault reportedly left him with fractures in both legs and an arm, besides causing serious injuries to his head.
Rupal, who was allegedly present at the scene, attempted to intervene, according to the complaint. Police said he was allegedly threatened with a country-made firearm and warned against interfering in the attack.
A case was subsequently registered under various provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. The investigation was later transferred to Crime Branch-1, which began efforts to identify and apprehend the accused involved in the alleged attack.
As part of the investigation, police arrested Asif Khan of Shadipur and Wasil alias Sonu of Garhi Gujran on August 13 from a rest area near Aurangabad. During their police remand, investigators reportedly recovered items allegedly connected with the incident based on information provided by the accused.
The recoveries included a Mahindra Thar bearing registration number HR02AX-7007, a pointed iron weapon, an iron rod and a mobile phone. Police said these articles were taken into custody as part of the investigation into the attack.
Investigators subsequently made another arrest in the case. On September 1, police arrested accused Rakesh Bahmani alias Monty from Jai City, Jagadhri. His arrest was described as another step towards identifying and apprehending all those allegedly involved in the incident.
The latest arrest of Kajal has now taken the total number of accused arrested in the case to four. Police are questioning him on remand to gather further information about the alleged attack and establish the circumstances leading up to the incident.
The police are examining the alleged motive, the sequence of events and the involvement of the different accused. Investigators are also expected to assess the evidence already recovered during the earlier arrests and determine how it relates to the allegations made in the complaint.
The case involves serious allegations of a coordinated attack in which several vehicles were allegedly used to stop the victim’s Innova. The alleged use of iron pipes, sticks and a pointed weapon, along with the reported threat involving a firearm, has made the investigation a priority for the Crime Branch.
Police officials said the investigation is continuing and that further action will be taken on the basis of evidence gathered during the probe. The remand of the latest accused is expected to assist investigators in obtaining additional information about the alleged incident and identifying any other facts relevant to the case.
The police have not disclosed the complete findings of the investigation at this stage. The allegations against the accused will be subject to the ongoing investigation and judicial process.
Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal has directed district police units to maintain strict action against criminal activities and offenders. The latest arrest forms part of the police department’s broader efforts to investigate serious cases and bring those allegedly involved before the law.
Crime Branch-1 officials said they would continue to examine all available evidence in the case. Statements of witnesses, the recoveries made during the investigation and information obtained during questioning are expected to be assessed together to establish the facts.
The police are also examining the circumstances surrounding the earlier dispute that allegedly preceded the attack. Establishing the connection between the July 27 dispute and the August 3 incident will be an important part of determining the alleged motive.
For the victim’s family and those involved in the investigation, the next stage will focus on establishing the complete circumstances of the attack and determining the individual roles of the accused. Police said the investigation would continue until all relevant aspects of the case have been examined.
With four arrests now made, the Yamunanagar Police have indicated that the investigation remains active. The accused arrested so far will face the judicial process, while police continue to collect and verify evidence related to the alleged attack.
