Kurukshetra to Launch District-Wide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ Campaign from August 9

The Kurukshetra district administration has announced an extensive programme of patriotic events under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, with Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena stating that every resident of the district will be encouraged to participate in the nationwide initiative.
The campaign will be observed from August 9 to August 17, 2026, and will also feature special events marking the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram’ and Partition Horrors Remembrance Day on August 14.
The Deputy Commissioner reviewed preparations during a meeting with district officials following a video conference chaired by Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, who issued guidelines regarding the statewide implementation of the patriotic programmes.
Addressing the meeting, Meena said the district administration is committed to making the campaign a mass public movement by involving government departments, educational institutions, local bodies, social organisations, religious groups and citizens from every section of society.
“We will make every possible effort to connect every citizen of Kurukshetra with the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign. These programmes are an opportunity to strengthen patriotism, national unity and respect for the Tricolour,” he said.

The Deputy Commissioner said Partition Horrors Remembrance Day will be observed at the district level to honour the memories and sacrifices of those affected during the 1947 Partition.
The programme will include special exhibitions, school competitions, and interactive sessions where members of families affected by Partition will be invited to share their experiences and memories, ensuring that future generations understand the human cost of the country’s division.

As part of the campaign, the district will organise Tiranga Yatras, motorcycle rallies, bicycle rallies, electric bike rallies, and a series of patriotic awareness programmes across urban and rural areas.
Government departments, schools, colleges, local bodies, voluntary organisations and religious institutions will participate in the celebrations to ensure widespread public engagement.
Competitions will also be organised in schools to encourage students to learn about India’s freedom struggle and the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs.
Officials said the campaign aims not only to promote respect for the National Flag but also to inspire citizens, particularly the younger generation, to uphold the values of patriotism, unity and national service.
