Election Commission guidelines reviewed; officials directed to ensure strict compliance with all prescribed security and storage protocols

Deputy Commissioner Preeti conducted the monthly physical inspection of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Warehouse located on the premises of the District Secretariat in Yamunanagar in accordance with the guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India.
During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the arrangements at the EVM Warehouse and directed the Election Naib Tehsildar, Yamunanagar, to ensure strict compliance with all instructions and guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India regarding the storage and security of EVMs.
Preeti emphasised the importance of maintaining the prescribed procedures and ensuring that all security-related requirements concerning the EVM Warehouse are followed without any lapse. The monthly physical inspection forms part of the established monitoring mechanism for ensuring the proper upkeep and security of election-related equipment.
The inspection was attended by CTM Piyush Gupta, District Information and Public Relations Officer Dr Manoj Kumar, Election Naib Tehsildar Prashant Kumar and representatives of various political parties. INLD representative Jasbir, Aam Aadmi Party representative Vikas Gaba and other political party representatives were also present along with officials and staff of the Election Office.
The presence of representatives of political parties during the inspection provided an opportunity for them to witness the physical verification and arrangements at the EVM Warehouse as part of the established electoral procedures.
The district administration reiterated the importance of maintaining transparency, security and adherence to the Election Commission’s prescribed instructions in all matters concerning electronic voting machines and election-related material.
The monthly inspection is intended to ensure that the warehouse arrangements remain in accordance with the prescribed norms and that the EVMs and associated election equipment continue to be maintained under proper security arrangements.
