Anti Vehicle Theft Cell arrests accused following blockade near Kail Bypass; police recover motorcycles linked to separate theft incidents

Yamunanagar Police have arrested an alleged motorcycle thief and recovered three stolen motorcycles from his possession in an action carried out by the Anti Vehicle Theft Cell. The accused was produced before the court and sent to judicial custody, while police said further investigation is underway to identify other persons allegedly involved in vehicle thefts.
The action was conducted under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal as part of the district police’s ongoing efforts to curb vehicle theft and apprehend repeat offenders.
Anti Vehicle Theft Cell In-charge Rajesh Kumar said the team had received confidential information that a youth allegedly travelling on a stolen motorcycle would pass through the Kail Bypass area. Acting on the information, a special police team comprising ASI Randhir Singh, Sandeep, Yogesh and Naresh was constituted.
The team reached the suspected location and established a blockade. Vehicles passing through the area were checked carefully as part of the operation.
According to police, after some time, a young man was seen approaching on a motorcycle. The team stopped him and checked the vehicle documents. The documents reportedly appeared suspicious, prompting the officers to question the rider in detail.
During questioning, police allegedly established that the motorcycle was stolen. The accused reportedly disclosed that he had stolen the motorcycle from City Mall on August 20.
The accused was identified as Vishal alias Gullu, son of Satish Kumar, a resident of Budiyo village in Ambala district.
Police said further questioning of the accused led to the recovery of another stolen motorcycle. During interrogation, he allegedly disclosed that the second motorcycle had been stolen on August 10 from in front of Gupta Palace, Jagadhri, near Gaba.
The police team subsequently recovered a third motorcycle allegedly linked to vehicle theft. Officials said the engine and chassis numbers of this motorcycle had been scratched off, apparently making it difficult to establish its original identity.
According to the Anti Vehicle Theft Cell, the accused disclosed during questioning that the third motorcycle had allegedly been stolen jointly with another associate. Police are now searching for the second person allegedly involved in that theft and said efforts are underway to locate and arrest him.
The recovery of three motorcycles from one accused has been described by police as an important development in their investigation into vehicle theft cases in the district. Officials said the recovered vehicles could help investigators connect the accused with additional theft incidents and determine whether the suspect was part of a larger vehicle theft network.

Police said citizens should immediately report suspicious activity around parked vehicles. Timely information can assist law enforcement agencies in identifying suspects and preventing thefts.
Following his arrest, the accused was produced before the court. The court subsequently sent him to judicial custody. Police said further investigation would continue to establish the complete circumstances of the thefts and identify any additional persons connected with the cases.
The police are also verifying the details of the three recovered motorcycles and matching them with complaints and records of reported vehicle thefts. This process is expected to help determine whether the vehicles are connected with other cases registered in Yamunanagar or neighbouring districts.
