Thousands join march from Gumthala Rao to Radaur; minister calls upon people to remember freedom fighters and uphold national unity

A grand Tiranga Yatra was organised across the Radaur Assembly constituency under the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, with Haryana Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Shyam Singh Rana leading the march. Thousands of residents, including youth, women and BJP workers, participated in the yatra carrying the national flag and raising patriotic slogans.
The yatra began at the Inquilab Temple in Gumthala Rao, where Minister Shyam Singh Rana and other participants paid floral tributes to the statues of great freedom fighters and remembered their sacrifices. From Gumthala Rao, the procession passed through Jathlana, Khajuri and Nagal before moving through the Rest Area Damla, Kheri Lakha Singh and Chamrauri. The yatra finally concluded at the Shaheed Udham Singh Kamboj Dharamshala in Radaur amid patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
At various points along the route, local residents warmly welcomed the Tiranga Yatra. People gathered on roadsides to show their support, while the sight of hundreds of national flags and patriotic slogans created an atmosphere of national pride.
Thousands participate with national flags
The participation of local residents remained one of the major highlights of the event. Men and women from different areas, young people and BJP workers joined the march in large numbers.
With the Tricolour held high, participants moved through the different villages and towns along the route. Patriotic slogans echoed throughout the journey, reflecting the enthusiasm surrounding the Independence Day celebrations.
Minister Shyam Singh Rana said the Tiranga Yatra was being organised to remember the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and to inspire the younger generation to understand the value of the freedom achieved after immense struggle.
He said the day was a symbol of courage and national pride and recalled the sacrifices of revolutionaries and freedom fighters such as Bhagat Singh, Chandrashekhar Azad, Rajguru and Ram Prasad Bismil.
“These great sons of Bharat Mata sacrificed their lives during the freedom movement. Remembering those who gave their lives for the country’s freedom is our collective responsibility,” Rana said.
He added that the Tiranga Yatra was being organised as a tribute to the martyrs whose sacrifices made it possible for future generations to live in a free country.
‘Tricolour symbolises national pride and unity’
Rana said the national flag represented the honour, dignity and pride of the country and was also a powerful symbol of national unity.
He said the message of the Tiranga Yatra went beyond the celebration of Independence Day. It was intended to remind citizens, particularly young people, of their responsibility towards the nation.
According to the minister, the sacrifices of freedom fighters and soldiers should remain a source of inspiration for every generation. He urged people to contribute towards strengthening India’s unity, integrity and sovereignty.
He said remembering the sacrifices of the country’s heroes was particularly important for young people because it helped them understand that India’s freedom was achieved through the courage, determination and sacrifice of countless men and women.
Rana said the Tiranga Yatra also conveyed a message of patriotism and social responsibility. He urged citizens to participate enthusiastically in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and display the national flag respectfully at their homes and establishments on Independence Day.
Appeal to youth to draw inspiration from martyrs
The Agriculture Minister said the younger generation should learn about the lives and sacrifices of freedom fighters so that the values for which they fought could remain alive.
He said the country had a responsibility to ensure that the sacrifices of its martyrs were never forgotten.
“The freedom that we enjoy today came at a great cost. Our freedom fighters made the supreme sacrifice for the honour of the Tricolour and the country,” he said.
Rana called upon young people to use the occasion of Independence Day to renew their commitment towards national unity and responsible citizenship.
He said the Tiranga Yatra was an opportunity for citizens to express their respect for the country and its national symbols while also strengthening a sense of collective responsibility.
Tiranga campaign to reach every household
Rana appealed to residents to actively participate in the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign and hoist the national flag at their homes and business establishments with due respect.
He said the campaign would help strengthen the connection between citizens and the national flag while creating awareness about the sacrifices associated with India’s freedom.
The minister said national celebrations should not remain limited to official programmes. Every citizen, he added, could contribute by remembering the martyrs, respecting national symbols and working for the unity and progress of the country.
He also extended his Independence Day greetings to the people of Haryana and appealed to citizens to celebrate the occasion with patriotism, harmony and a sense of responsibility.
Public participation gives yatra a strong message
The extensive participation of residents along the route gave the event a strong public character. At different locations, villagers welcomed the procession and joined the patriotic atmosphere.
The organisers said the purpose of the yatra was to take the message of national unity and remembrance of freedom fighters to different parts of the Radaur Assembly constituency.
The route covering Gumthala Rao, Jathlana, Khajuri, Nagal, Damla, Kheri Lakha Singh, Chamrauri and Radaur also provided an opportunity for residents of different areas to participate in the campaign.
The event concluded at Shaheed Udham Singh Kamboj Dharamshala in Radaur, where participants gathered with the national flag and paid tribute to the country’s martyrs.
The minister and other leaders emphasised that the spirit behind the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign should continue beyond Independence Day. They said national pride should be reflected not only in hoisting the Tricolour but also in responsible conduct, respect for fellow citizens and contribution to the development of the country.
The event also highlighted the role of local communities in making national campaigns successful. The participation of women, youth and residents from rural areas demonstrated the broad public involvement in the Independence Day celebrations.
The organisers urged citizens to maintain the dignity of the national flag and observe the campaign in accordance with the prescribed rules.
The Tiranga Yatra ended with a renewed appeal to citizens to remember the sacrifices of freedom fighters, respect the national flag and work collectively towards strengthening India’s unity, integrity and national pride.

Former MLA and Haryana Safai Karamchari Commission chairman Ishwar Singh Palaka, senior BJP leader Nepal Singh Rana, Radaur Market Committee chairman Rupinder Singh Malli, BJP general secretary Narendra Rana, Naharapur mandal BJP president Adesh Rana, Radaur mandal BJP president Krishan Kamboj and Farkpur mandal BJP president Sandhya Rawat were among those present.
Senior BJP leader Master Satpal Kamboj, Gopal Krishna, BJP general secretary Sachin Pal, Rajkumar Sharma, Rajpal Alahar, Khushal Nehra, Anil Saini, Harish Gandhi, Pratap Rana, Naresh Kamboj and several other party leaders and workers also participated in the Tiranga Yatra.
