Vishav Pratap Singh Ahluwalia, Joint Director, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Yamunanagar, participated as the Special Invitee. Punjab National Bank Lead District Manager Subhash Chand also addressed the gathering.

The programme was jointly conducted by HCCI Yamunanagar General Secretary Sumit Gupta and Ernst & Young consultant Nisha Singh.

Delivering the keynote address, MLA Ghanshyam Dass Arora emphasised the importance of regular savings and retirement planning for employees working in the private sector.

“Small but consistent savings become the foundation of long-term financial security. The National Pension System offers employees a dignified and financially secure retirement,” he said.

He urged industrialists across Yamunanagar to implement the National Pension System (NPS) in their establishments, stating that extending social security benefits to private-sector employees is not merely an administrative responsibility but a moral commitment towards those who contribute to the growth of industries.

Highlighting the importance of the MSME sector, Vishav Pratap Singh Ahluwalia described it as the backbone of India’s economy. He said industries that invest in employee welfare and social security witness improved productivity, better workplace culture and sustainable long-term growth. He also briefed participants on various government schemes available for MSMEs.

Addressing the workshop, Vinod Khandelwal, President of HCCI Haryana, said the National Pension System is much more than an investment instrument.

“NPS is a powerful social security mechanism that safeguards employees’ future. HCCI will continue spreading awareness about the scheme across industries throughout Haryana so that more workers can benefit from retirement security,” he said.

HCCI Yamunanagar President Rajesh Sondhi noted that employees remain the greatest asset of any industry. Providing them with financial security and confidence about their future, he said, naturally improves employee retention, productivity and organisational stability.

He reiterated HCCI’s commitment to organising similar awareness programmes that balance industrial growth with employee welfare.

HCCI State General Secretary Raj Chawla said adopting social security initiatives has become essential for industries in today’s competitive business environment.

“The National Pension System strengthens trust between employers and employees while promoting a responsible industrial culture,” he remarked, adding that HCCI would expand the awareness campaign across Haryana.

Welcoming the participants, Sumit Gupta, General Secretary of HCCI Yamunanagar, said the workshop aimed to familiarise industries with the practical benefits of NPS and encourage MSMEs to strengthen employees’ long-term financial security.

During the technical session, experts from Aditya Birla Capital Pension Fund, SBI Pension Funds and HDFC Pension Management explained the operational framework of NPS, investment options, tax benefits and advantages available to both employers and employees. Participants also interacted with the experts and received answers to several practical queries regarding implementation.

The workshop concluded with participants expressing strong interest in introducing the National Pension System within their organisations, recognising it as an important step towards strengthening employee welfare and building a more resilient industrial workforce.

The event was attended by HCCI President Rajesh Sondhi, State President Vinod Khandelwal, State General Secretary Raj Chawla, General Secretary Sumit Gupta, Finance Secretary Deepak Sondhi, State Vice-President Aditya Chawla, along with several prominent industrialists, bankers and MSME entrepreneurs from across the region.
