School marks students’ birthdays, teachers’ birthdays and wedding anniversaries together to promote friendship, emotional well-being and a sense of belonging

St. Lawrence International School, Vyaspur, celebrated the birthdays of 94 students born between May and July, along with the birthdays and wedding anniversaries of teachers, in a vibrant community gathering aimed at fostering unity, happiness and a strong sense of belonging within the school family.
The celebration brought together students, teachers, management members and staff in an atmosphere filled with joy, music and enthusiasm. The event was organised to strengthen the bonds of friendship, mutual respect and emotional connection among members of the school community while encouraging a positive learning environment.
School Chairperson Dr Rajni Sehgal, along with members of the management committee, joined students and teachers in cutting the ceremonial cake and personally greeted each celebrant with warm wishes. The management also distributed cake to students and staff, making the occasion memorable for everyone present.
Students enthusiastically exchanged birthday greetings, sought blessings from their teachers and participated in the celebrations with great excitement, creating a lively and cheerful atmosphere across the campus.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Rajni Sehgal said the smiles and confidence of students are the school’s greatest achievement. She emphasised that collective celebrations play a significant role in supporting children’s emotional, mental and social development.
“Such programmes bring children closer to one another and nurture values such as positivity, compassion, friendship and mutual respect. We wish every student a healthy, successful and bright future,” she said.
Renowned educationist Dr M. K. Sehgal described schools as institutions that shape not only academic excellence but also character and values. He said students should be encouraged to grow with discipline, confidence, compassion and a strong sense of social responsibility.
“A school is the foundation of a child’s holistic development. Along with quality education, children should receive equal opportunities, moral values and the confidence to become responsible citizens. Celebrations like these strengthen cooperation, harmony and social bonding among students,” he said.
The programme also featured colourful cultural performances, including dance presentations, poetry recitations and other entertaining acts performed by students and teachers, drawing enthusiastic applause from the audience.
Teachers appreciated the school management for organising the celebration, saying such initiatives help strengthen relationships between students and teachers while promoting teamwork, discipline, mutual respect and a family-like atmosphere within the institution.
The event concluded on a festive note with the participation of the entire school fraternity, including members of the management committee, teachers, administrative officials and staff.
