Dussehra was celebrated with enthusiasm and cultural dignity at St Lawrence International School, located on Pabni Road, Jagadhri, and Shahpur Road, Vyasarpur. The event showcased Indian culture and traditions through the talent, creativity and participation of students, creating a festive atmosphere across the school.
The little learners of the pre-primary wing appeared in attractive costumes representing various characters from the Ramayana. Their charming appearances and performances captivated the audience and brought the spirit of the epic to life. The programme reflected a meaningful blend of Indian cultural heritage, religious devotion and moral values.
Dr M.K. Sehgal Highlights the Victory of Good over Evil
Addressing the students, renowned educationist Dr M.K. Sehgal said Dussehra symbolises the victory of truth over falsehood and righteousness over evil. The defeat of Ravana at the hands of Lord Rama, he said, conveys the enduring message that no matter how powerful evil may appear, truth ultimately prevails.
He encouraged students to set clear goals in life, remain honest and move forward with a positive outlook. He also urged them to draw inspiration from the ideals of Lord Rama and build strong character and personality through good conduct and discipline.
Dr Rajni Sehgal Emphasises All-Round Development

Highlighting the religious and cultural significance of Dussehra, she encouraged students to make truth, good conduct and moral values an integral part of their lives. She said festivals provide valuable opportunities for children to understand traditions and learn lessons that can guide them in everyday life.
Ravana Effigy Burning Marks the Celebration
The programme concluded with the burning of an effigy of Ravana, symbolising the triumph of good over evil. Students were encouraged to reflect on the deeper message of the occasion: just as Lord Rama defeated Ravana, everyone should strive to overcome inner weaknesses, arrogance and negative thoughts.
