Utthan Sansthan Stresses Awareness and Inclusion »
Dr Anju Bajpai, director of Utthan Sansthan, said awareness of the Constitution and the rights granted under Indian law is essential for citizens to understand how those protections can be used. She emphasised that people can effectively exercise their rights only when they know what those rights are and where to seek assistance when required.
Dr Bajpai also spoke about children with disabilities and the responsibility of society to support their inclusion. She urged people not to remain indifferent when they encounter a child with a disability and said every possible effort should be made to provide support and encouragement so that such children can participate fully in society.
She stressed that collective support can help children with disabilities become part of the mainstream and develop confidence in their abilities. According to her message, inclusion requires sensitivity not only from institutions but also from families, schools and members of the wider community.
Legal Literacy as a Tool for Empowerment »
The programme highlighted the wider importance of legal literacy among students. Awareness of laws relating to child protection, education and access to justice can help young people better understand the safeguards available to them. Such programmes also provide an opportunity to discuss questions in an accessible setting and encourage students to seek guidance through appropriate legal and institutional channels.
The interaction also underlined the connection between education and social responsibility. Participants were encouraged to recognise that knowledge of rights should go hand in hand with respect for the rights of others, particularly children and people who may need additional support because of disability or other circumstances.
The school’s teacher Rajni expressed gratitude to the visiting guests, resource persons and organisers on behalf of the institution. The programme concluded with an emphasis on continuing efforts to spread legal awareness and promote a more informed and inclusive society.
