Students of Saraswati Public School and JP Senior Secondary School entrusted with leadership responsibilities

An investiture ceremony was organised at Saraswati Shikshan Sansthan in Saraswati Nagar, with students of Saraswati Public School and JP Senior Secondary School participating enthusiastically in the programme. Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja attended the ceremony as the chief guest, while Thana Chhappar Station House Officer Ajay Kumar was present as the special guest.
The ceremony began with an impressive march past by students of the participating schools. Marching in disciplined formations to the beats of the school band, the students presented a ceremonial salute to the chief guest. The event provided an opportunity for students to take on formal leadership roles and understand the responsibilities associated with them.
Institution Director Jaipal Gohri welcomed Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja with a bouquet. During the ceremony, Ahuja conferred sashes on students selected for various leadership positions and formally entrusted them with their respective responsibilities.
Addressing the students, the Additional Deputy Commissioner highlighted the importance of leadership, discipline and responsibility in a student’s life. He said responsibilities assigned at the school level play an important role in shaping the personality of young people and help them develop qualities that remain valuable throughout their lives.
Ahuja said students should not regard a leadership position merely as a matter of honour or status. Instead, those entrusted with responsibility should use their positions to set an example for others through their conduct, discipline and commitment. Leadership, he said, comes with the responsibility of guiding peers and contributing positively to the school community.
The investiture ceremony at Saraswati Public School saw a number of students take charge of different positions. Tanish was appointed Head Boy and Bhavna Head Girl, while Nikhil and Palak were given the responsibilities of Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl respectively.
Keshav and Parveen were appointed Sports Captains, while Aditya and Neha were named Sports Vice Captains. Mayank and Mishti were entrusted with responsibilities in the Communication Club, while Rhythm and Shagun were assigned roles in the First Aid Club.
Armaan and Bhumika were appointed Discipline In-Charges, while Jashan Dahiya and Akshita were given the responsibility of Counselling Captains. Samriddh and Arav Bhargava were among the students entrusted with House Captain responsibilities. The flag-bearing responsibilities were assigned to Ishpreet, Hardik, Harshit Rana, Vani, Eshav and Tanmay.
Diya Aggarwal was selected as the School Perfect Student of Saraswati Public School.
At JP Senior Secondary School, Mankirat and Rashi were appointed Head Boy and Head Girl, while Harbind and Ramanpreet were entrusted with the positions of Deputy Head Boy and Deputy Head Girl.
Ashu Pal and Diksha were appointed Sports Captains, while Sahib Deep and Ritika were named Sports Vice Captains. Students were also assigned responsibilities related to different clubs and discipline management, giving them an opportunity to contribute to the functioning of the school and develop organisational and leadership skills.
The House Captain responsibilities at JP Senior Secondary School were given to Vanshika, Puneet Saini, Kanika and Ritesh. Vanshika, Kunal, Chanpreet and Aditya were entrusted with flag-bearing responsibilities. Hema was selected as the School Perfect Student.
The ceremony was marked by a sense of enthusiasm among students, teachers and school authorities. The formal presentation of leadership positions was intended to encourage students to understand that responsibility is closely linked with discipline, teamwork and accountability.
The march past and band performance added a ceremonial character to the event, while the investiture proceedings provided students with a platform to publicly accept their new responsibilities. The participation of students from both institutions also reflected the emphasis being placed on extracurricular activities and personality development alongside academics.
Institution Director Jaipal Gohri expressed his appreciation to the chief guest and special guest for attending the programme and encouraging the students. At the conclusion of the ceremony, he honoured Additional Deputy Commissioner Naveen Ahuja and Thana Chhappar SHO Ajay Kumar by presenting them with shawls and mementoes.
The programme was attended by Chairperson Veena Rani, Principal Jyoti Gohri, Vice Principal Ginny Gohri and members of the teaching and support staff. Monika Chawla, Shalini Sharma, Pooja Saini, Pooja Rani, Twinkle, Raksha Bhatia, physical education teacher Dharmbir, Jasbir, Rahul Sharma, Prachi, Ritika, Sonia Atri, Mohit Lalar and NCC coach Sikander were among those present.
The ceremony concluded with students taking on their newly assigned responsibilities, with the emphasis on discipline, leadership, service and setting a positive example within the school community.
