Shri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated with deep devotion, religious fervour and enthusiasm at the premises of Shri Shani Dev Temple in Yamunanagar, where a large number of devotees gathered to offer prayers and participate in devotional programmes marking the birth of Lord Krishna. According to Bajaj, religious and cultural programmes have an important role in strengthening social harmony and brotherhood. Such events bring people together irrespective of differences and provide an opportunity for communities to preserve their traditions and pass cultural values on to younger generations.
He said celebrations such as Janmashtami are not limited to religious rituals but also provide an opportunity to reflect upon values that can strengthen society. Faith, compassion, truth, duty and service are among the principles that can help create a more harmonious social environment, he added.
