Pratap Nagar Police recover stolen electric motor; accused produced before court and sent to judicial custody

Pratap Nagar Police have arrested two men in connection with the alleged theft of electric motors from a stone crusher plant and recovered a stolen motor during the investigation. The accused were produced before the court and sent to judicial custody, police said.
According to the police spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal has issued strict directions to the district police to take effective action against crime and criminals. Acting on these directions, the Pratap Nagar Police team investigated a case involving the alleged theft of two electric motors from a stone crusher plant and traced two persons allegedly linked to the incident.
Police said the case was registered following a complaint by Sheharun, a resident of village TB Araiya, who works as a clerk at a stone crusher plant. In his complaint, he reported that two electric motors had been stolen from the crusher premises by an unidentified person or persons.
Following receipt of the complaint, police registered a case and began an investigation to identify those allegedly responsible for the theft. A team was constituted under the leadership of Assistant Sub-Inspector Ramesh Kumar to trace the accused and recover the stolen property.
During the investigation, police learned that one of the suspects allegedly involved in the case, Mohsin, son of Sadiq and a resident of Lakad Bhilpura, was already lodged in Saharanpur Jail in connection with another theft case. Investigators subsequently obtained a production warrant from the court and brought him into the present case for further investigation.
During his remand, Mohsin allegedly told investigators that he had committed the theft along with Rashid alias Lalu, son of Sadiq, who is also from his village. Acting on the information obtained during the investigation, the police team traced and arrested Rashid.
Police subsequently recovered the stolen electric motor in connection with the case. The recovery formed an important part of the investigation as officers worked to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged theft and trace the property reported missing from the stone crusher plant.
The police said the investigation was carried out under the directions of senior officers as part of the district-wide drive against property-related offences. The focus remained on identifying the persons allegedly involved, recovering stolen property and completing the required legal proceedings.
The case began with the complaint regarding the disappearance of two electric motors from the stone crusher premises. Since the complainant initially had no information about the identity of the alleged offender, investigators were required to trace the suspects through the available leads during the course of the inquiry.
The involvement of Mohsin came to light during the investigation despite his being lodged in another case at Saharanpur Jail. Police followed the required legal procedure to secure his production before the competent court and subsequently questioned him in connection with the Yamunanagar case.
During the investigation, his alleged disclosure regarding the involvement of Rashid alias Lalu provided police with another lead. The team acted on the information and arrested Rashid. Police then recovered the stolen motor, strengthening the investigation into the reported theft.
The police spokesperson said the arrests reflected the district police’s continued efforts to take firm action against those allegedly involved in criminal activities. Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal has directed police teams to maintain strict vigilance and take prompt action in cases involving crime and criminals.
Police officials also reiterated the importance of reporting theft and other property-related offences without delay. Timely complaints can help investigators begin the process of tracing suspects and recovering stolen property at the earliest possible stage.
After completing the necessary procedures, both accused were produced before the court. They were subsequently sent to judicial custody.
The police clarified that further investigation in the case will proceed in accordance with the law. Investigators will examine the available facts and evidence and take further action wherever required.
