Bharatiya Janata Party state secretary Madan Chauhan on Sunday reached Shastri Colony, where he joined party workers and local residents in listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s monthly radio programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’. The gathering focused on the inspirational messages and ideas related to national interest and social responsibility shared during the programme.
On his arrival at the venue, Chauhan was welcomed by party workers with garlands. Local BJP workers and residents participated in the programme and listened attentively to the Prime Minister’s interaction with citizens and his references to individuals and organisations making meaningful contributions in different fields.
Speaking on the occasion, Chauhan said that ‘Mann Ki Baat’ has emerged as an important platform for connecting citizens with issues concerning society and the nation. He said the programme encourages people to understand their responsibilities towards the country and motivates them to contribute positively to society in whatever capacity they can.
Chauhan said the programme regularly highlights examples of ordinary citizens who are working in different parts of the country and contributing to social welfare without seeking publicity or personal recognition. According to him, such stories demonstrate that meaningful change can often begin with individual efforts and community participation.
He said topics such as environmental protection, cleanliness, self-reliance, women’s empowerment, social awareness and the achievements of young people have frequently received attention through the programme. By bringing such initiatives before a wider audience, ‘Mann Ki Baat’ encourages citizens to learn from positive examples and consider how similar efforts can be undertaken in their own communities.
The BJP state secretary said the significance of the programme lies not merely in the Prime Minister addressing the people but also in the way it creates a platform for recognising citizens who are making constructive contributions to society. He said many individuals and groups across the country are involved in initiatives aimed at improving their communities, protecting the environment, promoting cleanliness and supporting social causes, often without expecting recognition.
Chauhan said these examples can inspire others to participate in nation-building at the local level. He emphasised that the development of the country is not the responsibility of the government alone and that citizens also have an important role to play.
He appealed to BJP workers to communicate the positive messages emerging from ‘Mann Ki Baat’ to a wider section of society. He said workers should encourage people to understand the social and national issues highlighted through the programme and motivate them to adopt constructive practices in their daily lives.
According to Chauhan, a society can progress when citizens become aware of their responsibilities and actively participate in efforts aimed at improving their surroundings.
