The Inner Wheel Club Jagadhri Yamunanagar, District 308, organised an Inner Wheel Young Leadership Award Programme at DAV College for Girls, Yamunanagar, with the participation of more than 300 students from 13 schools.

The programme was aimed at providing students with knowledge, awareness and practical guidance on important issues connected with their personal lives, education, relationships and overall development.

The programme featured four informative and motivational sessions conducted by experienced speakers.

The sessions focused on areas considered important for the emotional, social and personal development of young people.

The first session was conducted by former club president Rachna Nayyar, who spoke on dealing with stress and pressure. Interacting with the students, she explained the importance of remaining calm and patient during difficult situations. She encouraged students to avoid taking impulsive decisions when facing challenges and to adopt a balanced approach while dealing with pressure in academic and personal life.

The second session was conducted by Rotarian Raman Gupta on the theme of culture and heritage. He encouraged students to respect their traditions, values and cultural heritage while maintaining an open and progressive outlook.

He said that young people should remain connected with their roots while also developing the ability to understand new ideas and changing social circumstances.

The third session was conducted by Lalita Deverkonda, who highlighted the importance of sports in the lives of students.

She explained that participation in sports contributes not only to physical fitness but also helps develop discipline, confidence, teamwork and a healthy lifestyle. Students were encouraged to include sports and other physical activities in their daily routine.

The fourth session was conducted by Rotarian Sanjay Pahuja, who discussed the special relationship between children and their parents.

He urged students to understand the sacrifices, efforts and expectations of their parents and to express gratitude towards them. He emphasised that mutual understanding, communication and respect can strengthen relationships between parents and children.

The programme also included cultural and awareness activities. Students of Bloomberg School presented an attractive dance performance, while a street play on water conservation was staged to spread awareness about the importance of saving water.

The presentation conveyed a social message to the students and encouraged them to adopt responsible habits for environmental conservation.

PDC Sameera Saluja introduced the students to Inner Wheel and explained various activities undertaken by the organisation.

She highlighted the role of social organisations in community development and encouraged students to participate in initiatives that promote social responsibility and public welfare.

Refreshment boxes were also distributed among the students and teachers during the programme.

A total of 26 Inner Wheel Club members actively participated in the event and contributed to its successful organisation.

Former presidents Shashi Gupta, Rani Bhatti, Bela Vinayak and Parveen Garg, along with other office-bearers and members, were present during the programme.

Former president Neelima Saini, who served as project chairperson, played an important role in planning and coordinating the event. Former president Isha Gandhi also extended her support to the programme.

The organisers said that programmes focusing on youth development provide students with an opportunity to learn beyond the regular classroom environment.

Discussions on stress management, culture, sports and family relationships also help young people understand practical aspects of life and develop greater confidence in dealing with everyday challenges.

The participation of students from 13 schools made the programme a broad-based youth engagement initiative. Through interactive sessions and cultural activities, the organisers sought to combine learning with social awareness and personal development.

Club president Ragini Vinayak and editor Sandeep Kaur Vig expressed gratitude to all club members, speakers, teachers and students for contributing to the success of the programme.

They appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students and said that such initiatives would continue to be encouraged to promote leadership, awareness, confidence and responsible citizenship among young people.

The Inner Wheel Club Jagadhri Yamunanagar’s initiative brought students from different schools together on a common platform and provided them with an opportunity to interact with speakers on subjects directly relevant to their lives. The programme concluded with an emphasis on developing confident, disciplined, socially aware and responsible young citizens.
