New Aadhaar enrolment to be offered free of cost; biometric updates and corrections available at prescribed rates

The District Red Cross Society, Yamunanagar, has established an Aadhaar Centre at the Red Cross Building in Sector 17, HUDA, Jagadhri, with the objective of providing citizens easy access to a range of Aadhaar-related services at one location. The centre has been set up to offer new Aadhaar enrolment, biometric updates and permitted corrections at the prescribed rates.
Officiating Secretary of the District Red Cross Society, Yamunanagar, Sanjeev Dhiman, said the Aadhaar Centre has been established under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner and Chairperson of the District Red Cross Society, Preeti. The initiative is aimed at ensuring that members of the public can conveniently access Aadhaar-related facilities without unnecessary inconvenience.
Dhiman said the centre has been established in accordance with the directions of the Indian Red Cross Society, Haryana State Branch, Chandigarh. The facility will provide citizens with important Aadhaar services, including new enrolment and updates to existing Aadhaar records.
A major feature of the new facility is that new Aadhaar enrolment will be available completely free of cost. Eligible citizens who need to obtain a new Aadhaar card can visit the centre and complete the enrolment process without paying any fee.
The centre will also provide biometric update services. Citizens who need to update their fingerprints, iris scan or other biometric details in their Aadhaar records will be able to avail themselves of the facility by paying the prescribed fee of Rs 125.
For other permitted Aadhaar updates and corrections, including changes to a registered mobile number or correction of eligible details, a prescribed fee of Rs 75 will be charged.
Sanjeev Dhiman said the purpose of establishing the centre is to provide multiple Aadhaar-related services under one roof. Aadhaar holders may require corrections or updates in their personal information from time to time, while some citizens may need to enrol for a new Aadhaar card. The new facility is expected to make these services more accessible to residents of Yamunanagar and Jagadhri.
He appealed to citizens who need a new Aadhaar card or want to correct errors in their existing Aadhaar details to take advantage of the facility established at the Red Cross Building.
The Aadhaar Centre is also expected to provide relief to residents who otherwise have to search for authorised facilities to complete enrolment or update procedures. By establishing the service point at the District Red Cross Society premises, the administration and Red Cross Society aim to provide a convenient and citizen-friendly location for Aadhaar-related assistance.
Dhiman further said that the initiative is part of a wider plan to expand Aadhaar services through the network of District Red Cross branches across Haryana. Under the supervision of Ankush Miglani, Vice Chairman of the Haryana Red Cross Society, Chandigarh, and with the support of the Haryana Labour Department, similar Aadhaar-related facilities are proposed to be made available at nearly all District Red Cross branches in the state.
The expansion of Aadhaar facilities through Red Cross offices is expected to improve access to essential identification services for people across different districts. Citizens often require Aadhaar services for a variety of administrative and welfare-related purposes, making timely enrolment and accurate records important.
The establishment of the Aadhaar Centre in Jagadhri will enable residents to access new enrolment, biometric updates and permitted corrections from a dedicated service point. The facility will operate according to the prescribed guidelines and fee structure for the respective services.
The District Red Cross Society has emphasised that new Aadhaar enrolment at the centre will remain free of cost, while biometric updates will be available for Rs 125. Citizens seeking to update their mobile number or make other permitted modifications to their Aadhaar details will be able to avail themselves of the services on payment of Rs 75.
