Eligible students can apply online through Saral Haryana from August 17 to November 30; scholarship assistance ranges from ₹8,000 to ₹12,000 depending on academic performance and course

Deputy Commissioner Preeti has informed that online applications for the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Meritorious Revised Scholarship Scheme for the academic year 2026-27 are being accepted from students belonging to eligible categories and classes. The applications can be submitted through the Saral Haryana portal from August 17 to November 30, 2026.
The scheme is being implemented by the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes Welfare and Antyodaya Haryana. It aims to provide financial assistance to meritorious students and encourage them to continue their education at higher levels.
The Deputy Commissioner said that under the scheme, students belonging to the Scheduled Caste category who have secured the prescribed percentage of marks in Class 10 or Class 12 can receive scholarship assistance after taking admission to the next stage of education.
For Scheduled Caste students who have passed Class 10, those securing at least 70 per cent marks in urban areas and 60 per cent in rural areas will be eligible for ₹8,000 upon admission to Class 11 or the first year of diploma and certificate courses.
Similarly, Scheduled Caste students passing Class 12 with at least 75 per cent marks in urban areas and 70 per cent in rural areas can receive financial assistance for admission to the first year of undergraduate programmes.
Students taking admission to Arts, Commerce, Science and diploma or certificate courses will be eligible for ₹8,000. Those joining engineering, technical and professional courses can receive ₹9,000, while students pursuing medical and allied medical courses will be provided ₹10,000 under the scheme.
The scholarship scheme also extends financial assistance to eligible students entering postgraduate education. According to the information provided, graduate students securing the prescribed qualifying marks will be eligible for assistance upon admission to the first year of postgraduate studies.
For postgraduate courses in Arts, Commerce and Science, eligible students can receive ₹9,000. Students joining engineering, technical and professional postgraduate programmes can receive ₹11,000, while those pursuing medical and allied medical courses will be eligible for ₹12,000.
The Deputy Commissioner said the scheme also covers students belonging to Backward Class A, Backward Class B and General Category, subject to the prescribed academic eligibility criteria.
Under the scheme, Backward Class A students who have passed Class 10 with at least 70 per cent marks in urban areas and 60 per cent in rural areas will be eligible for ₹8,000 per year after admission to Class 11 or the first year of diploma and certificate courses.
For students belonging to Backward Class B, the eligibility requirement is higher. Students who have secured at least 80 per cent marks in urban areas and 75 per cent marks in rural areas in Class 10 can receive ₹8,000 per year upon admission to Class 11 or the first year of diploma and certificate courses.
Students belonging to the General Category who have secured at least 80 per cent marks in urban areas and 75 per cent marks in rural areas in Class 10 will also be eligible for ₹8,000 per year after taking admission to Class 11 or the first year of diploma and certificate courses.
The district administration has appealed to eligible students to ensure that they complete the application process within the stipulated period and upload all the required documents correctly.
Applicants seeking benefits under the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Meritorious Revised Scholarship Scheme will be required to submit copies of their caste certificate, Haryana domicile certificate, Parivar Pehchan Patra, photograph, bank passbook, DMC or marksheet for 2026, identity proof and proof that they are currently pursuing studies after March 2026.
In addition, applicants will need to submit an income certificate for the financial year 2026-27, showing that the annual income of the student’s father is below ₹4 lakh, as required under the scheme.
District Welfare Officer Anu Bansal said that the District Welfare Department provides benefits under several government welfare schemes and that the Dr B.R. Ambedkar Meritorious Revised Scholarship Scheme is an important initiative of the Haryana Government to support deserving and academically successful students.
