Yamunanagar Police’s Anti-Narcotic Cell during action against drug trafficking in two separate operations in the district.
Anti-Narcotic Cell recovers Tramadol and Alprazolam-based banned medicines from Jagadhri Bus Stand area; two car-borne accused held near Kalanaur border with heroin

In a major crackdown against drug trafficking, Yamunanagar Police have arrested three accused in two separate operations and recovered a large quantity of banned pharmaceutical drugs and heroin. The district’s Anti-Narcotic Cell seized a total of 6,200 prohibited tablets and capsules from one accused near Jagadhri Bus Stand, while another police team arrested two car-borne youths near the Kalanaur border and recovered 30 grams of heroin, commonly known as smack, from their possession.
According to the police, both cases have been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The accused were produced before a court and taken on police remand for further interrogation. Investigators are now trying to determine the source of the narcotics and the intended supply network.
Police spokesperson said that, under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal, district police teams are continuing their campaign against drug traffickers and those involved in the illegal supply of narcotics and prohibited medicines.
6,200 Banned Tablets and Capsules Recovered Near Jagadhri Bus Stand:
Anti-Narcotic Cell in-charge Anil Kumar said the police received secret information that a युवक was moving near Jagadhri Bus Stand carrying a large quantity of prohibited medicines and was allegedly involved in their illegal supply.
Acting on the information, a police team comprising ASI Amit Kumar, Karamveer, Jasbir Singh, Manjeet and Monu was formed and sent to the spot. The team located and apprehended the suspect.
A Duty Magistrate was called to the scene, and the accused was searched in accordance with the prescribed procedure. During the search, police recovered a substantial quantity of suspected prohibited pharmaceutical drugs.
The seized medicines were subsequently examined by Drug Controller Bindu Dhiman. According to the police, the examination confirmed the recovery of 1,000 Spas Plus Tramadol capsules, 1,000 Clapidol Tramadol tablets and 4,200 Ultrox Alprazolam tablets.
The total recovery in the case amounted to 6,200 banned tablets and capsules.
During questioning, the accused was identified as Ajay, a resident of Ram Nagar. Police registered a case against him under the relevant provisions of the law and produced him before a court, which granted police remand for further investigation.
In-charge Anil Kumar said that Ajay was already facing three other cases under different sections, which are currently pending before the court. During remand, investigators will question him about where he allegedly obtained the prohibited medicines and where they were intended to be supplied.
Police are also examining whether the accused was operating independently or was part of a wider network involved in the illegal distribution of pharmaceutical drugs containing narcotic or psychotropic substances.
Two Arrested with 30 Grams of Heroin:
In another operation, the Anti-Narcotic Cell acted on intelligence that two youths travelling in a car were expected to enter Haryana through the Kalanaur border while allegedly carrying narcotics.
Based on the information, a separate police team comprising Sub-Inspector Om Prakash, ASI Kuldeep, Amit, Jaipal, Lalit and Om Prakash was constituted. The team established surveillance and intercepted the suspected vehicle near the border.
During the search of the car and the occupants, police recovered 30 grams of heroin (smack), according to the spokesperson.
The two accused were identified as Kapil Kumar, son of Madan Lal and a resident of Rampura Colony, and Ravinder, son of Angrej Singh and a resident of Tejli.
Both accused were arrested, and a case was registered against them under the NDPS Act. They were later produced before a court and taken on police remand.
Police said the questioning during remand would focus on identifying the alleged source of the heroin, the route through which the contraband was transported and the locations where it was allegedly intended to be sold.
Police Probe Possible Drug Supply Network:
With the two operations taking place as part of the continuing anti-drug campaign, Yamunanagar Police are now investigating whether the accused arrested in the separate cases have links with larger drug trafficking or illegal pharmaceutical supply networks.
The investigation will examine the supply chain behind both the prohibited medicines and heroin, including possible suppliers, intermediaries and intended buyers.
Police officials said strict action against drug trafficking would continue and urged members of the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by sharing information regarding suspicious activities related to narcotics or the illegal sale of prohibited drugs.
The arrests come as district police intensify their campaign against drug abuse and trafficking, with the Anti-Narcotic Cell conducting intelligence-based operations in different parts of the district and along border routes.
Further details are expected to emerge as the interrogation of the accused continues.
