Former Haryana Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal honours meritorious CBSE students with medals and certificates at Government Model Sanskriti Senior Secondary School, Saraswati Nagar.
Meritorious Class 10 and 12 students receive medals and certificates as education, digital learning and environmental awareness take centre stage

Former Haryana Cabinet Minister Kanwar Pal honoured meritorious students of Class 10 and Class 12 for their outstanding academic performance in the CBSE examinations at a special felicitation ceremony organised at Government Model Sanskriti Government Senior Secondary School, Saraswati Nagar. The achievers were presented with medals and certificates in recognition of their Hardwork, discipline and excellent performance, as the ceremony celebrated academic success and encouraged other students to pursue their goals with determination and confidence.
Addressing the students, Kanwar Pal congratulated the toppers and said that academic success is the result of consistent hard work, proper guidance from teachers and continuous support from parents. He encouraged students to remain focused on their goals and develop the confidence to compete at higher levels. He said that education plays a decisive role in shaping the future of young people and that schools must continue to provide students with opportunities, modern learning resources and an environment that encourages them to perform to their full potential.
Reflecting on his tenure as Haryana’s Education Minister, Kanwar Pal said that several important and long-term initiatives were introduced to strengthen the education system and provide students with improved academic opportunities. He highlighted programmes and initiatives including the Super-100 programme, distribution of tablets to students, installation of digital boards in schools, establishment of sports nurseries, development of the PM SHRI school concept, and the introduction of the CBSE curriculum in several government schools. He said that such initiatives were aimed at making education more accessible, technology-oriented and aligned with the changing needs of students.
Kanwar Pal said that modern education requires much more than traditional classroom learning. Students today need access to digital resources, quality teaching, career guidance, sports facilities and opportunities to develop practical skills. He said that the introduction of technology and improved infrastructure in government schools has helped create better learning opportunities for students from different backgrounds. He encouraged students to make full use of the facilities available to them and remain committed to continuous learning.
The former minister also stressed that success should not make students complacent. Instead, he said, every achievement should motivate them to set higher goals. He encouraged the toppers to continue working hard in their future academic and professional journeys and asked other students to take inspiration from their achievements. According to him, determination, discipline and a positive attitude are essential for overcoming challenges and building a successful career.
District Project Officer K.S. Sandhawa also congratulated the meritorious students and described their success as a collective achievement involving the students, teachers and parents. He said that excellent academic performance is not achieved overnight but is the outcome of sustained effort and proper guidance. He encouraged other students to learn from the dedication and discipline of the toppers and strive for better results in their own academic pursuits.
Sandhawa said that recognition programmes play an important role in motivating students. When young achievers are honoured publicly, it not only boosts their confidence but also inspires other students to believe in their own potential. He said that schools should continue to encourage academic excellence while also giving importance to sports, cultural activities, personality development and other areas that contribute to the overall growth of students.
The programme also carried an important message of environmental responsibility. During the event, Kanwar Pal and District Project Officer K.S. Sandhawa participated in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation campaign and planted amla and neem saplings on the school campus. Students were encouraged to understand the importance of environmental conservation and to actively participate in plantation and cleanliness activities.
Speaking about the plantation initiative, participants emphasised that planting a tree is only the first step and that regular care and protection of saplings are equally important. Students were encouraged to develop a sense of responsibility towards the environment and contribute to creating greener and healthier surroundings. The plantation activity added a meaningful dimension to the academic felicitation ceremony by connecting the celebration of educational achievement with the larger responsibility of environmental protection.
School Head Mukesh Kumar, senior staff member Gurmeet Saini, HASLA district president Vinod Kumar, Mandal president Johnny Rana, Zila Parishad member Raghuvanshi, members of the school staff and a large number of students were present on the occasion. Teachers congratulated the toppers and expressed confidence that their achievements would motivate other students to work harder and bring further recognition to the school.
