Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Preeti has urged citizens to carefully verify their names and other particulars in the draft electoral roll published under the Election Commission of India’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026), and complete all necessary formalities within the prescribed deadline.
The draft electoral roll was published on July 31, 2026, as part of the Special Intensive Revision exercise. Preeti said that voters whose names were included in the earlier electoral roll but are not included in the draft roll published on July 31, and who have received a notice from their Booth Level Officer (BLO), can submit their claims and objections to the concerned BLO up to August 30, 2026.
She appealed to all such voters to make use of the opportunity within the stipulated period and complete the required process without delay. She said that timely action would help ensure that eligible voters are not left out of the electoral roll.
Eligible 18-year-olds can apply through Form-6:
The District Election Officer said that young citizens who have completed 18 years of age as on July 1, 2026, are eligible to apply for inclusion of their names in the voter list.
Such eligible youth can submit Form-6 through their concerned BLO and apply either online or offline. She appealed to all young citizens who have attained the eligible age to verify their voter status and complete the registration process within the deadline.
Preeti said that registration as a voter is an important part of democratic participation. First-time voters should ensure that their names are correctly entered in the electoral roll so that they can exercise their right to vote.
Form-8 available for correction of voter details:
The Deputy Commissioner said that voters who find errors in their name, address or other details can get them corrected by submitting Form-8 along with the required declaration.
She urged citizens to carefully check the draft electoral roll and verify all the information recorded against their names. If any discrepancy is found, the prescribed correction process should be completed within the given period.
She said that citizens should not wait until the last date if they find an error or omission in their electoral information.
Focus on accurate and transparent electoral roll:
Preeti said that the objective of the Election Commission of India is to ensure that no eligible citizen is left out of the electoral roll and no ineligible person is included.
She said that an accurate electoral roll is an important foundation for a fair, transparent and credible electoral process.
To ensure proper implementation of the Special Intensive Revision, concerned officers and employees have been trained in the latest guidelines and technical procedures. The training has been aimed at ensuring that the entire revision process is completed in a fair, transparent and error-free manner.
The administration is also ensuring that claims, objections, new registrations and correction applications are dealt with according to the prescribed procedures.
Applicants receiving hearing notices must appear:
The District Election Officer also advised applicants who receive a notice regarding a hearing to appear before the concerned officer on the specified date.
She said that applicants should present their case and provide the required information or documents during the hearing so that their applications can be disposed of in a timely and impartial manner.
Preeti urged citizens not to ignore any notice received from the election authorities and to carefully follow the instructions mentioned in it.
Citizens can check voter information online:
The Deputy Commissioner said that citizens can also check their voter-related information through the Election Commission of India portal and the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana.
Citizens have been advised to verify their names, addresses and other details in the electoral roll and take timely action if they find any discrepancy.
She particularly appealed to voters whose names were present in the earlier electoral roll but are missing from the July 31 draft roll and who have received notices from BLOs to submit their claims or objections before August 30, 2026.
Similarly, young citizens who completed 18 years of age as on July 1, 2026, can apply for inclusion of their names through Form-6.
Voters seeking corrections in their existing electoral details can use Form-8 and complete the required formalities.

With August 30, 2026, being the deadline mentioned for claims, objections and applications under the current revision exercise, eligible citizens have been advised to act well before the last date.
Preeti said that timely verification by citizens would help strengthen the electoral roll and ensure that eligible voters are able to participate in the democratic process.
She appealed to every eligible citizen to take responsibility for checking their electoral information and ensuring that their details are correctly reflected in the voter list.
