The Jai Shri Ramlila Manch Sanstha, Sector-48, Chandigarh, formally commenced preparations for its annual Shri Ramlila with the successful organisation of a Shubh Aarambh Puja and artist selection programme. The event marked the beginning of rehearsals and planning for this year’s grand theatrical presentation of the epic Ramayana.

The programme was held at the residence of the organisation’s President, Vikas Soni, in Pink Rose Society, Sector-49, Chandigarh, where members, artists and organisers gathered to seek divine blessings for the successful conduct of the cultural event.

During the programme, discussions were held regarding the selection of artists for various characters and the schedule for regular rehearsals. The organisers said this year’s Ramlila will once again be presented on a grand scale with a strong focus on devotional values, cultural heritage and high production standards.

The institution announced that the production will continue under the direction of Pradeep Kumar, who has been associated with Ramlila performances for the past 48 years. His vast experience, dedication and artistic vision have played a significant role in preserving the traditional grandeur of the theatrical presentation. Organisers expressed confidence that this year’s production will uphold the rich cultural and spiritual legacy of the festival while offering audiences a memorable experience.

Adding further strength to the production, noted director Sanjeev Sood from Sector-17, Panchkula, along with his team of artists, also participated in the programme. The performers showcased their acting skills before the selection committee, following which they were chosen to be part of this year’s Ramlila cast.

The organisers said rehearsals will begin shortly, with selected artists working extensively to ensure a disciplined and spiritually enriching presentation of the epic. They expressed confidence that the 2026 edition of Shri Ramlila will once again become a symbol of devotion, cultural pride and community participation in the Tricity region.
