Monthly inspection conducted to ensure security and adherence to Election Commission protocols ahead of future electoral processes

As part of the Election Commission of India’s prescribed protocol, City Magistrate Piyush Gupta conducted the monthly physical inspection of the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) Warehouse located within the District Secretariat complex in Yamunanagar.
During the inspection, Gupta reviewed the security arrangements and directed the Election Naib Tehsildar to ensure strict compliance with all guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India regarding the storage, maintenance and security of EVMs. He stressed that transparency and adherence to standard operating procedures are essential for maintaining public confidence in the electoral process.
Officials also verified the condition of the warehouse and reviewed the records maintained for the secure storage of EVMs. The inspection forms part of the Election Commission’s routine monitoring mechanism to ensure that all election-related equipment remains safeguarded.
Among those present during the inspection were DIPRO Dr. Manoj Kumar, Election Naib Tehsildar Prashant Kumar, and Election Kanungo Vishal.
National Statistical Office Conducting Socio-Economic Surveys Across Yamunanagar
The National Statistical Office (NSO), functioning under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India, has launched a series of socio-economic surveys across Yamunanagar district during August 2026 to collect data for national and state-level policy formulation and development planning.
The surveys are being conducted under the guidance of Priyanshu, Assistant Director of the NSO’s Sub-Regional Office, Ambala. Senior Statistical Officer Rahul said the information gathered through these surveys will help governments prepare evidence-based development policies and welfare programmes.
According to officials, trained NSO personnel are collecting data using secure digital devices and web-based platforms. The surveys currently underway include the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS), Annual Survey of Unincorporated Sector Enterprises (ASUSE), National Household Income Survey (NHIS), Consumer Price Index (CPI) Survey, Situation Assessment Survey (SAS) and the Migration Survey (MPS) across selected urban wards and villages, including Bhud Kalan, Jungle Kalesar, Khundewala, Jaidhar, Damla, Azizpur, Mansurpur and Jagadholi.
Rahul emphasised that all information collected from respondents will remain strictly confidential and will be used exclusively for statistical purposes. He appealed to selected households, establishments and institutions to extend full cooperation by providing accurate and complete information to survey officials.
He said public participation in these surveys plays a crucial role in strengthening India’s statistical system and ensuring better governance through data-driven policymaking.
