Yamunanagar Police has intensified its special enforcement campaign against vehicles running without High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) and those being driven without number plates. The campaign is being conducted under the directions of the Director General of Police, Haryana, and under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Kamaldeep Goyal.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ashish Chaudhary said the campaign is aimed at ensuring compliance with traffic rules, strengthening the police response to crime and increasing awareness among vehicle owners and drivers about their legal responsibilities.

Special checking and nakabandi across the district»

According to ASP Ashish Chaudhary, special checking drives and nakabandi operations are being conducted at different locations across Yamunanagar district. During these checks, police teams are taking action against vehicles found without number plates, without HSRP or in violation of other prescribed traffic rules.

Police are also checking vehicles in which occupants or drivers are found covering their faces with cloth, where such circumstances are relevant during enforcement checks. Violations are being dealt with according to the applicable provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.

The police have emphasised that HSRP is an important vehicle-identification mechanism. A standardised registration plate can make vehicle identification easier and may assist investigating agencies when a vehicle becomes relevant to a criminal investigation.

Police appeal to vehicle owners»

ASP Ashish Chaudhary has appealed to vehicle owners whose vehicles do not yet have an HSRP to get the prescribed plate installed at the earliest through the authorised process.

He also urged motorists not to drive vehicles without registration plates. Vehicle owners have been advised to keep their registration plates and other required documents in accordance with the applicable rules.

The police have made it clear that violations will invite action under the Motor Vehicles Act. The objective, officials said, is not limited to issuing challans but also includes improving road safety and strengthening law-and-order arrangements.

HSRP and vehicle identification»

High Security Registration Plates are designed to provide a standardised identification system for registered vehicles. From a policing perspective, correct and visible registration details can help authorities identify vehicles during traffic checks and investigations.

The district police have therefore linked the enforcement drive not only to traffic compliance but also to broader concerns relating to vehicle identification and public safety.

Campaign aimed at compliance and public awareness»

According to the district police, the special campaign is intended to encourage motorists to comply with traffic regulations rather than merely increase the number of challans. Officials have appealed to citizens to follow traffic rules and ensure that their vehicles meet all prescribed documentation and registration requirements.

The enforcement drive also reflects the importance of maintaining proper vehicle identification on public roads. Visible and valid registration details can assist routine traffic enforcement and help authorities establish the identity of vehicles when required.

Police have stated that negligence and violations detected during the special campaign will be taken seriously. Vehicle owners and drivers have therefore been advised to complete the required formalities and avoid operating vehicles without valid number plates or HSRP.
