The Shivaji Press Club will organise a tree plantation programme at Hindu Girls College, Jagadhri, on August 17 at 10:30 am as part of its social and environmental conservation campaign, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.

Haryana Staff Selection Commission (HSSC) member Master Amar Singh will attend the programme as the chief guest, while Jagadhri SDM Vishwanath will be present as the guest of honour. The programme will be presided over by noted social worker Satpal Singh Rozi.

Officials of the Jagadhri Forest Range, including officer Puneet, will provide special support for the plantation drive.

Ahead of the programme, a delegation of the Shivaji Press Club met Jagadhri SDM Vishwanath at his office as part of the preparations. During the meeting, club representatives honoured the SDM by presenting him with a traditional stole and bouquet and formally invited him to the plantation programme.

Vishwanath appreciated the efforts of the Shivaji Press Club in promoting social awareness and environmental protection. He particularly praised the club’s initiatives involving blood donation camps and tree plantation drives, describing such activities as meaningful contributions towards society.

The club delegation also met Radaur SDM Narendra and honoured him with a stole and bouquet.

The Shivaji Press Club has been conducting social awareness initiatives across the district and plans to expand the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign to other areas as well. Plantation programmes will soon be organised in Radaur and Jathlana, with the objective of encouraging local residents to participate in environmental conservation and increase awareness about the importance of trees.

The organisers said the campaign aims to connect environmental protection with community participation and encourage citizens to take responsibility for increasing green cover in their surroundings.

Members of the delegation present on the occasion included Rajendra Kumar, Ravish Chauhan, Savita, Ravikant, Ali Jaan Raunak, Ramkishan Kashyap and Sardari Lal.

The upcoming plantation programme at Hindu Girls College is expected to bring together representatives of the press club, public representatives, officials and members of the community around the shared objective of environmental protection.
