The Shivaji Press Club paid a courtesy visit to Bilaspur Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Dr Kuldeep Singh, where members of the organisation felicitated him with a traditional ceremonial stole and a bouquet, marking a cordial interaction focused on community welfare and social responsibility.

During the meeting, Dr Kuldeep Singh lauded the club’s growing contribution to social causes alongside its journalistic responsibilities. He said that when journalists actively participate in community service in addition to their professional duties, they become powerful agents of positive change and public awareness. He especially appreciated the club’s recently organised blood donation camp and its ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ plantation campaign, describing both initiatives as meaningful efforts towards social development.

Encouraging the organisation to widen its outreach, the SDM suggested that the plantation campaign should also be organised across the Bilaspur subdivision. He informed the delegation that Ambala Divisional Commissioner Sanjeev Verma has also been requested to participate in the proposed plantation programme and has assured that a suitable date will be finalised soon for the event. Shivaji Press Club President Ravinder Chauhan said the organisation had begun community welfare activities immediately after its formation. He stated that the plantation drive was launched from Chhachhrauli and would now be expanded to Bilaspur, Sadhaura, Saraswati Nagar, Radaur and Jethana through large-scale tree plantation programmes with the support of social organisations and local volunteers. He further announced that the club is also preparing to organise a mega medical check-up camp in either Bilaspur or Chhachhrauli in the near future, aimed at providing healthcare services to residents of the region. The meeting reflected the growing collaboration between the administration and the media in promoting environmental conservation, public health and community welfare initiatives. Among those present were club patron Raghuveer Singh Rana, Rajendra Kumar, Ramkishan Kashyap, Savita, Ravikant, Ravi Kumar, Nitin Singla, Pankaj Batra, Antim Prajapati, Ali Jan, Raunak, Dinesh Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar, Sardari Lal, and Bilaspur AIPRO Aleem.
