Kurukshetra District administration plans tricolour rallies, exhibitions, concerts and public participation to mark Independence celebrations

Kurukshetra Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena has announced that the district will celebrate the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga 2026’ campaign with a series of patriotic events aimed at strengthening national pride and honouring the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters.
The campaign will feature tricolour rallies, cycle rallies, cultural programmes, exhibitions, concerts and special activities in schools and colleges across the district.
Addressing officials, the Deputy Commissioner said the initiative is not merely a flag-hoisting campaign but an opportunity for citizens to remember the sacrifices of the nation’s martyrs and reaffirm their commitment to national unity.
A large Tiranga Rally involving students, government employees, armed forces personnel, NGOs and members of the public will be organised. The event will begin with the collective singing of Vande Mataram, while elaborate arrangements will be made to ensure the dignity of the National Flag.
The administration will also display the Ministry of Culture’s Tiranga Exhibition at prominent public locations. Cycle and e-bike rallies will be organised in all blocks and gram panchayats, with special participation from youth.
Government buildings, schools, hospitals, bridges and major intersections across the district will be illuminated in tricolour themes. Schools and colleges have also been directed to decorate campuses with patriotic artwork and inspirational messages from India’s freedom movement.
The Deputy Commissioner urged residents to participate actively by hoisting the National Flag at their homes, institutions and commercial establishments and uploading selfies with the tricolour on the Har Ghar Tiranga portal.
Ayush Department Organises Health Camps, Yoga Sessions and Plantation Drives Across Kurukshetra
The Ayush Department organised a series of health awareness and environmental conservation programmes at five locations across Kurukshetra district under the guidance of District Ayurvedic Officer Dr Manju Sharma, aiming to promote preventive healthcare, yoga and sustainable living.

At the Ayush Wing of LNJP Hospital, patients attending the outpatient department participated in a yoga awareness session featuring stretching exercises, neck mobility movements and Bhramari Pranayama. Dr Shubham delivered a lecture on stress management, highlighting the role of yoga, pranayama and a balanced lifestyle in improving mental well-being.
A similar awareness programme was held at PHC Sarsa, where patients and healthcare staff were introduced to the benefits of incorporating yoga into their daily routine.
The department also organised a health camp at Kamboda village, where Dr Jagir Singh examined 55 patients, while Pharmacist Ran Singh distributed medicines. Yoga Assistant Sonika, Yoga Instructor Swati and Part-time Yoga Trainer Vijay conducted practical yoga sessions.
As part of its environmental initiative, the department planted 85 Royal Palm saplings at the village gymnasium in Sainsa, with support from Sarpanch Krishna Kumar. Additional plantation drives featuring medicinal plants such as Amla and Tamarind were carried out at the Central Bank premises and GAD Mathana.
Officials said the initiative reflects the department’s commitment to promoting holistic healthcare while encouraging environmental sustainability.
