Eligible women from families with annual income up to ₹1.80 lakh can now apply, while limits have been raised to ₹3 lakh for certain beneficiaries

The Haryana government has made a significant change in the eligibility criteria for the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme, aimed at promoting the welfare and economic empowerment of women across the state. The annual family income ceiling for women seeking benefits under the scheme has been increased from ₹1 lakh to ₹1.80 lakh.
The scheme is scheduled to be formally launched by Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on September 17, 2026. The revision in the income eligibility limit is expected to bring more women and families within the scope of the welfare initiative.
Deputy Commissioner Preeti said families with an annual income of up to ₹1.80 lakh will now be eligible for benefits under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme. The increase in the income ceiling will allow women from a larger number of economically vulnerable households to seek assistance under the programme.
She said women whose applications had earlier been rejected through the Lado App because their family income exceeded the previous limit of ₹1 lakh can now apply again through the same app. Such applicants will be able to submit fresh applications in accordance with the revised eligibility criteria.
The Deputy Commissioner advised eligible women to take particular care while submitting their details through the Lado App. Applicants should enter exactly the same information that is recorded in their Parivar Pehchan Patra, or Family Identity Card, she said.
According to the administration, maintaining consistency between the information entered in the application and the details recorded in the Family Identity Card will help prevent errors and reduce the possibility of delays in processing applications. Women eligible under the revised criteria have therefore been advised to carefully check their information before submitting the application.
The government has also revised the income ceiling for certain categories linked to the educational achievements of children. According to the Deputy Commissioner, parents whose children have secured 80 per cent or more marks in Class 10 or Class 12 in government schools will now be covered under a higher annual family income limit.
For families falling under this category, the annual income ceiling has been increased to ₹3 lakh from the earlier limit of ₹1.80 lakh. The change is intended to widen the eligibility net for families whose children have demonstrated strong academic performance in government schools.
The revised provisions also extend to mothers of children who have overcome malnutrition and shown improvement in their health. The administration said that mothers of children who have overcome malnutrition and remained healthy for six months will also be eligible for benefits under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme, subject to the applicable conditions.
For this category as well, the annual family income ceiling has been increased from ₹1.80 lakh to ₹3 lakh.
The changes represent an expansion of the scheme’s eligibility framework, particularly for women and families who may have been excluded under the earlier income limits. By raising the basic income ceiling to ₹1.80 lakh, the government has sought to include additional families facing economic constraints.
The provision allowing previously rejected applicants to submit fresh applications is also significant for women whose applications were rejected solely because their family income exceeded the earlier ₹1 lakh threshold. Such applicants can now reassess their eligibility and apply through the Lado App under the revised criteria.
The administration has emphasised the importance of entering accurate information while applying. Applicants are required to ensure that their details correspond with those available in the Family Identity Card. Any discrepancy could create difficulties during verification or delay the processing of the application.
The higher ₹3 lakh income ceiling for families whose children have scored at least 80 per cent in Classes 10 or 12 in government schools adds an educational dimension to the revised eligibility framework. Similarly, the provision concerning mothers of children who have recovered from malnutrition links the scheme with family welfare and improved child health.
The government has positioned the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme as an initiative focused on women’s welfare and economic empowerment. The expansion of eligibility is intended to ensure that benefits reach a broader section of women and families who meet the prescribed conditions.
The formal launch of the scheme on September 17 will mark the beginning of its implementation under the revised eligibility framework. Women and families meeting the new criteria are expected to benefit from the expanded income limits.
The Deputy Commissioner urged eligible applicants to make use of the revised provisions and submit their applications carefully through the designated digital platform. She particularly stressed that the information entered in the Lado App should match the details in the Family Identity Card to avoid unnecessary errors.
The latest changes also provide an opportunity for women whose earlier applications were rejected on income grounds to apply afresh. Those whose family income was above ₹1 lakh but does not exceed the revised limit of ₹1.80 lakh can now seek consideration under the updated criteria.
For the special categories involving academic achievement and children who have overcome malnutrition, families with annual income up to ₹3 lakh will now come within the revised eligibility framework, subject to the conditions specified by the government.
The changes are expected to broaden the reach of the scheme and enable more women to access government support. The administration has advised beneficiaries to remain attentive to eligibility requirements and ensure that all information submitted during the application process is accurate.
With the revised income ceilings and additional provisions for specific beneficiary groups, the Haryana government has expanded the scope of the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Scheme ahead of its September 17 launch.
