Draft voter list published under Special Intensive Revision 2026; final electoral roll to be released on October 3 after disposal of claims and objections

Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Preeti has appealed to eligible voters not to panic if their names are missing from the draft electoral roll, stating that they can still apply for inclusion before August 30, 2026, through the prescribed process.
She said any eligible citizen whose name does not appear in the draft voter list can submit Form-6, either online or offline through the concerned Booth Level Officer (BLO), to have their name included in the electoral roll. She clarified that voters should not assume their names have been permanently deleted and advised everyone to first verify the draft electoral roll before taking further action.
The Deputy Commissioner said the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 is being carried out under the directions of the Election Commission of India, and the draft photo electoral roll has already been published for all Assembly constituencies in the district. Citizens have been advised to carefully verify their names, addresses and other personal details and submit claims or objections within the stipulated period if any discrepancy is found.
Preeti further said that citizens who have attained the age of 18 years as of July 1, 2026, are eligible to enrol as new voters by submitting Form-6. She also highlighted the important role of recognised political parties in ensuring that the electoral roll remains accurate, updated and error-free. She added that even those whose names have been removed due to any reason can apply for re-enrolment by completing the required formalities.
She urged applicants receiving hearing notices during the claims and objections process to appear before the designated election authority on the scheduled date and present their case. This, she said, would help ensure a fair and time-bound disposal of applications.
The District Election Officer informed that applications for inclusion, correction or modification of voter details can be submitted until August 30. Voters seeking corrections in their existing details can file Form-8 along with the required declaration before the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) or Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO).
All claims and objections received from voters will be disposed of by September 28, while the final photo electoral roll will be published on October 3, 2026.
Appealing for public participation, Preeti said every citizen has a responsibility to help maintain a transparent and error-free electoral roll. She encouraged voters to verify their details through the official election portal or by contacting their BLO or the voter helpline 1950, and contribute actively towards strengthening the democratic process.
