A Class 10 student was found hanging inside the campus of a government school in Haryana’s Yamunanagar district on Thursday morning, hours after he was reported missing by his family.  The incident has raised several questions over how the teenager remained inside the school premises after classes had ended, with police launching a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.  The deceased has been identified as Kamaldeep, a student of Government Model Sanskriti School in Chhachhrauli. According to police, his school bag and bicycle were also recovered from the school campus. Family members said Kamaldeep did not return home to Panjeto village after school on Wednesday. When repeated attempts to contact him failed, relatives searched the surrounding area before informing the local police about his disappearance. Following the complaint, police initiated a search operation and continued looking for the student throughout the night. However, no trace of him could be found.  On Thursday morning, family members, accompanied by police personnel, returned to the school after mobile phone location details reportedly indicated that Kamaldeep’s last known location was within the school premises. The search team inspected classrooms and other parts of the campus before entering an abandoned building that had reportedly been declared unsafe. There, they found Kamaldeep hanging inside the structure.Police immediately took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem examination. Forensic evidence is being collected from the scene, and investigators are examining all possible angles to determine the circumstances that led to the student’s death. School Principal Usha Rani said all students had left the campus after school hours on Wednesday and the institution had been closed as usual. “We do not know how Kamaldeep returned to the school after classes or how he entered the abandoned building. The structure has been declared condemned and has remained closed for a long time. There is generally no movement in that area,” she said. The principal added that the student’s family approached the school on Thursday morning after informing authorities that he had been missing since the previous day. During the joint search, the body was discovered inside the disused building located within the school compound. Police officials said the exact cause and circumstances of the death would become clear only after the post-mortem report and completion of the investigation. They said statements of school staff, family members and other persons connected with the case are being recorded, while CCTV footage and other available evidence are also being examined. Authorities have appealed to the public not to speculate about the incident until the investigation is completed.
