MY Bharat to organise cultural, literary and digital contests in Yamunanagar to promote a drug-free India among youth

The MY Bharat initiative under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, has invited applications for district-level competitions under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2026, encouraging young people to use creativity, culture and innovation to spread awareness against substance abuse.
The competitions will be held on July 30 at Model Sanskriti Government Senior Secondary School, Jagadhri, with participation invited from schools, colleges, universities, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs), NSS units, NCC, Bharat Scouts and Guides, and other youth organisations across Yamunanagar district.
District Youth Officer Omkar Swami said the campaign aims to educate young people about the harmful effects of drug addiction while encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles and become ambassadors of social change.
“This campaign is not merely a competition. It is a national movement to empower young people to lead awareness efforts against substance abuse through creativity and community participation,” she said.
The district-level event will feature three group competitions—Group Dance, Group Folk Song and Street Play (Nukkad Natak)—through which participants will communicate the message of a drug-free society using traditional and performing arts.
In addition, three individual stage competitions will be organised, including Debate, Slam Poetry and Painting, allowing participants to express their ideas and artistic perspectives on the theme of drug de-addiction and healthy living.
The campaign also includes two online competitions. Participants can enter the Reel Making Competition by creating short awareness videos promoting a drug-free India, while the Slogan Writing Competition will encourage impactful messages aimed at inspiring society to reject substance abuse.
Officials said all applicants must be between 15 and 29 years of age and must be registered on the MY Bharat Portal, where participation is completely free. Applications will be accepted exclusively through the portal, and the last date for registration is July 30, 2026.
Omkar Swami appealed to educational institutions, youth organisations and eligible participants to actively join the campaign and contribute towards building a healthier, addiction-free society.
